Angel Trumpets?

Does anyone know anything about them? Me and my girlfriend decided not to take them but our friends just ate a lot of them and I don't wanna have to drive to the hospital tonight. Any info at all would be nice.

I don't think it would be going too far to call it extremely dangerous. At least when you're hallucinating off of acid or shrooms you can usually tell that you're hallucinating, on these I think your pretty much out of your mind. we used to pick em with the raver kiddies years ago.

Everyone always posts the same sources to check out. And I always check those sources before I ask a question on here. Erowid, etc. aren't helpful at all when it comes to finding out about certain things. I read all about angel trumpets on erowid and no where did it give me any information on how orally ingesting a certain amount of the plant would affect you. Anyways I didnt have to take anyone to the hospital, they were semi-dillusional and "drunk" for nearly 24 hours, but they were in a good environment, and didn't have that bad of a time. They will never do angel trumpets again though.

I get the impression that these type of plants should be pretty much only for shamans - real, expirenced ones. One could use it if one wished... but to take this drug as a means of getting fucked up... I really couldn't see it...

The drug would decide that you are too dumb to procreate and convince you to willingly chop your willy off. Pretty serious consequences, huh?

Stramonium datura (Angels trumpet) and Brugmansia (devils trumpet) are often confused. Stramonium was used by shamans, and a pertial recipe is given by Carlos Casteneda in "The Teachings of Don Juan". Stramoinum is commonly known as "Jimson weed" in the USA. Smoking seeds seemed to do it more than once.

Brugmansia is a nero paralytic and pstchotropic, effecting mainly the motor and optic nerves. Temporary blindness caused by Brug can be permanent if taken in large (unknown quantity) doses, which is possibly the origin of the old wives tale "you'll go blind if.............", and motor nerve paralysis can last quite some time. Don't mess with Brugmansia!!

well...
they are now recognized as being in different genera (bruggies used to be called "tree daturas"), but the alkaloid profile of plants within these the genera are very similar...
(and quite a few related tropanaceous plants genera, such as Atropa, Mandragora, Solanum, & even Petunia; as well as somewhat similar alkaloids showing up (usually in trace amounts...) in the more distant relatives such as tobacco, potato, tomato, eggplant, bell pepper (& tropinone derivatives popping up in E coca, heh...))

some folks find the scopolamine (predominant alkaloid in bruggies, supposedly) to be preferable to atropine (major alk in dats) - but these and the other alkaloids found in these plants can vary (even with the same plants, let alone other plants of the same species, & other plants of quite different genus & species) depending on individual genetics, environmental conditions, the phase of the moon, the time of day, and harvest & curing methods, etc...

pretty flowers, interesting plants to grow, but very tricky to work with...

MrRee, I am sorry, you said. Stramonium Datura( angels trumpet) and Brugmansia (devils trumpet) are often confused. And it is so, the Brugmansia, is the angel's trumpet, and Stramonium Datura, is the thorn-apple. just wanted to clear that up for everyone.

hehe got there before me chick...brugmania ( once termed tree datura's ) are the angels trumpet. I have an awesome variegated variety and its soo pretty when it flowers! Flowered twice last summer..well once in summer and again in november!! Crazyness..supposed to be tender but mine has been out all winter..it has been mild though

Angels trumpet was the first drug i tried when i was 13. I didn't know what i was doing or what it was going to do. a friends brother pointed it out cause it was growing in our front yard. So me and my mate made a tea and that day was my step into adulthood. I was absolutly fuck for a day and don't remember much of the experience. I remember being pinned down by my mother when i came to. I think of the experience as a sort of exorcism. I had a lot of demons in my life even at the age of 13 and I new I could deal with them after that. I could deal with anything after that.

Sorry i should add that i dont recoment people do what i did. There are many other SAFER alternatives that offer much more positive experienses.
DMT i found to be just as life changing but in a much more positive way. It is safer and only lasts 10-20 min. I was not a normal child and had been threw a lot. I have always regretted puting my mother threw that and she never looked at me the same.
Angels trumpet has a lot to teach but there is a large price to pay.
