The notion that good Christians will be taken up to heaven, leaving the rest behind to suffer the tribulations has captured the imagination of Hollywood, as well as many Christians. So what do you think?

The notion that good Christians will be taken up to heaven, leaving the rest behind to suffer the tribulations has captured the imagination of Hollywood, as well as many Christians. So what do you think? It's a notion that has made megamillions for televangelists and the authors of the "Left Behind" book series, and is surefire moneymaking material for mass-produced "B" Hollywood productions.
Most of the Christians I know believe that there will be an eventual second coming per the Bible, but consider that the persons who preach it as imminent and directly related to current events are not necessarily coming from a correct spiritual perspective or correct Biblical understanding.
Personally, I consider the second coming to be an event that happens on an individual basis, the moment when a person awakens spiritually and begins the process of acceptance of the reality of a higher power than themselves and a transcendental existence that lies beyond apparent reality.
