So, if the west coast of the country burns down tomorrow, it will be because of the obscene amount of fireworks we are going to shoot off. (makes manly grunting sounds).

:patriot:

Sorry, my English Friends, but any excuse to set off large pyrotechnics!

We celebrate too, but for the opposite reason - we got rid of ya on that day!
I kid, I kid.. but fireworks are always great, any time of year. Except in daylight.

then it's boring. all you can do is light off the really noisy ones.

It was lovely fun. One and a half hours of straight shooting off stuff. My tattoo artist shuts his shop down and sell fireworks instead (makes LOADS of money doing it) and we always buy from him. The ones he recommended this year, they went BOOM and went up HIGH and BOOM again. Very loud and satisifying booms with real pretty displays. And then another he recommended had 6 effects in one shot, so it would go up and then do 6 different displays. VERY nice.

Our street is littered with bits of cardboard. We will have to sweep. http://www.hipforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

the middle of summer, is, however, the most insane immaginable, time of year to be doing so, whatever it's intended to celibrate.

i do love the ones that make pretty colored animated pictures and stuff. it's been years since i've been to where i could see anything but the ones going of in the sky and the little toy ones they let us common people play with.

but wouldn't it make much more better sense to celibrate midwinter's eve, or perhapse beltane, if that could be made into some kind of national or international holy day, with them?

Well you are right, but they limit when we can shoot them by law and the middle of summer and new year's eve is all they allow.

But they can't stop me from having bonfires on the pagan holidays....it's my religious freedom.
