This news forum is really unnecessary. Everybody's still posting news in the general forum, which most of us actually think is better. It's just a dead forum.

bokonon
07-03-2007, 07:44 PM
Aye, so it seems. It could maybe have a differant slant on it, like good news or bizarre news or something...

fountains of nay
07-03-2007, 07:54 PM
Yeah maybe, but most of that still ends up in the main forum because that tends to be the first place that everyone goes to when they hit the UK forums.

mamaKCita
07-03-2007, 09:32 PM
i suppose it would be helpful for people who never come to these forums.

Power_13

We decided to break it out into its own forum because it works better that way with the group page. But

...your insults just lost you the UK group.

Keep it up see what else happens. You can self-destruct yourselves for all I care.So yeah, it is pretty pointless now. We could pretend it was a spelling error and make it a forum dedicated to newts, I guess?

fountains of nay
07-03-2007, 10:31 PM
How bizarre.
I really don't know what went on, but it all seems a wee bit pathetic to me.

The thread's been moved to the Politics forum now.

Here it is, a bit long though (http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=244134&page=14&pp=10).

mamaKCita

i don't think THAT will get you banned. he's not pro-usa, though i noticed a few people took some of his statements that way.

but when you think about it, china wouldn't be much better. trading one bully for another isn't much of a difference. *sigh* we're doomed.

Exactly!
Twas only a joke anyways, I didn't mean any harm... but after reading about Skip going on about Britain being invaded by the US or whatever I felt I wanted to post something.

I'm not a US hater, but I do have my british pride!

I've managed to get most of the bans reversed now. Please don't try to get yourself banned, it'll only make my job of restoring normality a whole lot harder. And I agree on the News forum, I think it's probably more sensible to use the main forum as the politics forum....

phoenix_indigo

Seriously though Skip, with this forum's primary intention being to tidy up the now defunct UK Group's page, what's gonna happen to it? The main UK forum itself would probably be the best place for discussion of events, but d'you think there might still be a place for this forum? I'm not sure myself, but then again I thought the idea of personal forums was a bit odd when it first started, and look how good it ended up.

Power_13

Actually, quick question about that movie. The Romans go to find Spartacus, and the entire group stands up and claims to be Spartacus.

Now, that's the most famous scene in the film and I've only heard of it. Never seen the film. So what I really want to know is, is the ending:

-the happy kind where the Romans cannot kill so many men, so they are all set free, including Spartacus

-the bitter-but-happyish kind where Spartacus reveals himself somehow to be the real Spartacus, the Romans kill him but spare the rest

-the probable realistic kind where the Romans don't have a clue which man is the real Spartacus, so they kill 'em all just to be on the safe side.
