What kind of music is everyone here into? I'm way into Elton John at the moment, I've been a HUGE fan of his for years. I'm mostly wondering if anyone else here is a big fan of his, because I heard that he's doing a concert where he's playing songs from the new album (The Captain and the Kid) and it's going to be shown online. Someone mentioned September 10 at 7pm ET at the AT&T blueroom site, I heard the link is EDIT
I'm going crazy trying to figure this out, been everywhere... has anyone else heard anything about this? I can't wait to see it!

yes I agree on all counts, its spam, and its clever
this is the gay forum so if you want to talk about Elton and how his music makes you feel, thats fine, however if I continue to feel that this thread is just too plug one of his concerts, I will close it

No, I really do love Elton John and I'm so excited for the new album! I think he's just amazing, his music is incredible. I heard about the online broadcast but I couldn't find it from anyplace official, just the link to the AT&T Blueroom has been going around and I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about it! Especially because I saw a commercial and they were talking about him doing a concert on Sept 8 but I'd heard the webcast was the 10th.

I think all his songs are great. But I have to admit, after my little cousin making me watch the Lion King with her every single time she came over for almost 2 years, I don't think I can listen to that song very much anymore :p

Elton John's cool,..but this thread sounds like a bad commercial,..
He is a good writer along with his collaborator,..Bernie Taupin(who never gets any credit!),..he's been around along time,..*maybe some won't agree with me...but,....Whether you think he sucks or is great,...He deserves alot of credit for making music for so long,..
Levon-is my favorite song from Elton..
It's definetely one of my very favorite songs,...but I'm not running out to buy his new album,..
The One is awesome..
Most of his old classic stuff is great,..

Elton John yes is one person I listen to. I also listen to a lot of others bands. Janice Joplin Full Tilt Boogie/ The Holding Company, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Aerosmith, Anything Mamma Cass, The Fed Pennies, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, John Frusciante, North of America, Indian Summer, No Doubt, The Misfits, The Distillers, The Tiger Army, The Necromantics, Old A.F.I (not the new faggy shit - and yes I am gay so don‘t all start bitching at me for nothing), Melvins….too many to list. Basically none-shitty indi, stoner rock, acid rock, classic rock, drone metal, jazz rock, punk, rock-a-billy, psych-a-billy, and OLD Emo, not the new shitty “my parents didn’t let me dye my hair black again so I am going to take a bottle of pills/slit my wrists” Emo.

Funny story!
I came out late this passed summer, but I had a girlfriend mid-summer.
Once when we were at my house, we were fooling around in my basement, like the youngens that we are, when my mom started coming down the stairs. So, I turn on the tv to cover up our fooling around... and Elton John's Little Red Piano was on tv. I completely ignored the girl for the rest of the night.
Harsh, I know, but it made coming out easier to understand.
