As for practicing sex with someone of the same gender. There is also no verifiably evidence that there is any mental health risk & the physical health risks aren't inherent to the practice itself but to the practice with multiple partners. If same sex marriage would be legal there would be even more monogamous same sex relationships bringing that statistic down.

I don't know which version of the Bible you own b/c there are too many to count but I believe the verse you are referring to is in Leviticus and it says, I'm just paraphrasing b/c I don't know which version you have and they all differ in wording, that one man shall not lie with another man as he lies with a woman. Some versions of the Bible have gone ahead and just shortened that verse to just "Homosexuality is a sin" b/c of the assumption that "lie" means sex. Does it? In our language, "lie" has two different meanings, couldn't this be for other words in other languages as well? The Bible didn't fall out of the sky written in English, it was first written in Old Hebrew then later translated. Here is that same verse in Hebrew: "V’et zachar lo tishkav mishk’vey eeshah toeyvah hee." which is literally translated: "And with a male you shall not lay lyings of a woman". I don't know about you all, but to me that's a cloudy verse that can be interpeted many different ways! What I find unusual in Christianity is that Jesus, who is central to this religion, didn't speak about many issues that modern Christians are intolerant of today. One of those is homosexuality.
