recommend any good books?

Im a relapsed drug user and cutter: (
And one thing ive learned is that i get a better high
from books and from learning
so ready with my library card and bus pass
and boring days to fill up
il bus anywhere to get a good read.
have any suggestions

i assume that writers like myself read quite a bit too

At your age, try the bestsellers... John Grisham, Agatha Christie, James Patterson.. the likes of them. Mitch Albom's not your cup of tea, I suppose...but try his newest, For One More Day...

Try the book called "5 go mad on mescaline" or get the dvd
another good one is "Fly Fishing By J.R. Hartley" or British Rail Scrapbook 1950. Photographs covering every region taken in 1950 and including many pre-grouping locomotives and coaching stock. Pictorial laminated boards, Ian Allan, 1978, pp64. VG £3.95

Check out all of Wildes work along with that last one...I got a book with TPODG, his plays, and all his poems in it for ten euro...score! Try getting hold of an English literature book from any friends who've finished college. A friend of mine gave me one with over a thousand pages, divided into sections by century, and then topic. It has poetry, plays, novels, excerpts.etc. It includes a lot of diverse work as well, from Frankenstein to Darwins Origin of the Species. I doubt I'll ever finish it, but it's nice to have it there.

Try the 2007 Wisden Almanac, my dear. It is a promising read, and includes good old Paul Collingwood, who is a century maker against the West Indies at Lords.

Damn Kether...that's actually a great idea. I remember we had a textbook like 2 years ago that had a bunch of good stories...Beowulf-->MacBeth-->more modern stuff

Try the Illiad by Homer, I believe also The Oddessey by Homer (erm yes its where homer simpson got his name) they are early greek stories about the war with the Trojans I believe and they are very significant today as software companies are fighting the trojans now
