I bought the new 'DVD 1st season boxed set ' today for £30.That is more than I would normally pay for DVDs but I'm making an exception to the rule here because I haven't seen 'Hawaii Five-O' for nearly 10 years since they showed on t.v. a posthumous episode in 1998 when Jack Lord died.
I missed all the episodes they showed on digital t.v. a few years back, because, guess what;I didn't have a digital t.v.
Is anyone else tempted to buy this new DVD release?.I'm not encouraging anyone whatsoever cos It's flippin' expensive-merely stating facts that I have parted with my £££s & will go without food etc.
This package includes the very first/pilot episode: 'Cocoon' that was premiered on t.v. Friday 20th September 1968.
I'll be watching late into the night, tonight on my cinema t.v screen with the beers & snacks."Book 'em Dano.":)

The theme song (by the Ventures) is awesome. Incredible horns.

Yes,agreed! I've got the 'Ventures' perfoming 'Hawaii Five-O' on a c.d.
It was actually written by Morton Stevens, which is a surprise because I thought it was written by Lalo Schifrin. It must be one of the finest t.v. theme tunes ever written. The opening sequence of 'H-F-O' especially the speeded up camera zooming in on Steve McGarratt, the watusi dancer etc.;were iconic & as enjoyable to watch as the stories themselves.

A bit of trivia.....Has anyone ever noticed when Jack Lord didn't have a suit on, he wore a long sleeved Hawaiian shirt ?
Reason was he had a lot of ink on his arms, old military days tattoos.
"Now you know the rest of the story".........
