Hello!
I am currently working on a college History research assignment for my final project. I chose the subject of a modern history of Sex Reassignment Surgery. I am not personally Transgendered, but I have been a long supporter of the LGBT community. I am trying to get an interview with a post-op MTF woman, but I need to get a back up interviewee incase she cant meet with me before the report is due.
I want to find more about the steps one must take before getting SRS, the results of the procedure, the recovery process and how SRS positively changes one's life. I also am curious to know if getting facial plastic surgery and breast implants/reductions are just as effective in improving the quality of the person's life compared to genital reconstruction, or if the genital surgery is the most important procedure... I am sure in the past 30 years or so, gender reassignment related surgeries have increased in quality and success... My goal is to find out how they have changed.
If any of you could answer any of these questions I would really appreciate it. It is ok if you have not personally gone through the procedure, I just need some help from someone who has more knowledge of the subject.
Thanks!!!
