Yeah can't wait till the new book's out. I enjoyed all of them except Order of the Phoenix which I thought was dull, far too long and pointless in terms of significant plot developments. The last one was probably my favourite, closely followed by Prisoner of Azkaban....

I love the Harry Potter books. I haven't pre-ordered yet though. I can't wait to get the next/last one though. I re-read them all after the last one, I couldn't remember the Order of the Phoenix in fact because I had listened to it on Audio CD so had to read it to remember it. I did like it though, and didn't think it was boring.

I hate Harry Potter, although I suppose my 'favourite' is The Prisoner of Azkaban.

I have never read them! I started the first one but just found it too childish! I don't get the whole "Harry mania"!

The only thing to do with harry potter I have read, is when it got published in the Daily Mirror that prince Harry was smoking Dope, and the headline was
Harry Pot-head, The philosopher Stoned!

Harry Potter can be summed up in 4 words:
Books OK, movies shit.

Yeah the movies were terrible.
I love Harry Potter, and defiantly looking forward to the next one, I feel like it's been a long time since ones come out, but I don't think any longer than usually.
I agree on the comment about Order of the Phoenix. That took me forever to get done.

A much loved series in this household, Shannon is an avid fan of Harry. She reads the book first and then its my turn as the bedtime story for her sister and herself. I imagine another queue at the bookshop for midnight. :)

Was going to start a thread on this. As the latest installment hits the cinemas, I too have been digging out the old novels that lay in a thick coat of dust on my bookshelves. Who thinks Harry Potter is killed off in book seven? One way to kill off the merchandise, but maybe Rowling has something up her sleeve. I thouroghly enjoy reading her books. Young Harry touches my heart, how his parents were killed and how he has to learn all these things later etc.

I agree. I think Harry will have to die at the end of this one. It will finish off the story nicely.

Anyone ever have someone rant to them about how the story is a rip off of the comic book "The Books Of Magic" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Books_of_Magic)? The young wizard boy in that even has a similar scar on his forehead.

Personally, I don't care, as I really like the Harry Potter stories, but well. Thought I'd mention it and see if anyone else has ever been yelled at about it by a comic book geek. =) And well, comics do technically count as books in my view. ;)

Once all the movies come on dvd, I am going to buy myself a dvd player with a complete set volume of dvds. I might also buy the remaining books. I can't remember who died in the Order of pheanix?

Looked on BBCi and the latest film seems to ignore the return of voldemort. This adaption is from the book Order of pheonix. I am yet to get the Half blood prince and the last book out soon. Looking at the blurb, it is highly gripping as Harry faces the final battle and JK Rowling unravels her enigmas.
