Understanding the opposite sex is a difficult task for us as well. We may seem like idiots to you but understand that you (as in the quintessential female representative present in the male psyche) come across as manipulative and kinda self centered to us.

That's why a really cool idea for a relationship model to me is a man at home and a woman the bread earner and the voice of power in a house. This way the man innately understands the woman's masculine characteristics and position, and the woman understands the man's roles in the house and in caring for the children. Some of the mysteries of the universe reveal themselves, and barriers are torn down.

That's my theory of course.

Yes Amerika extends it's male adolescence way beyond reason. Video games and TV sports, the car culture, getting drunk and over the top drug use, images of women as Victorias Secret models, junk food as a way of life. Too many temptations for gullible young testosterone along with clueless absentee parents bent on making the bucks. Look before you leap is all I can say.

That is...unless we are raised to exhibit these gender-defined attitudes, or raised to believe they exist.I think that is arguable. Men and women have been proven to have different hormonal makeups on average. I think the average woman is going to be very different from the average man, even if both were raised in say isolated biodomes. Of course, people vary so much on a person to person basis that you should be careful with any blanket statements concerning gender and personality.

This is like the stereotype that all woman are materialistic, have no worthwhile interest, and love to gossip. While many many girls are like that these days, there must be a few intelligent women that have a good concept of "reality", better things to do than talk about people, and are non-materialistic.

Come to think about it, in my past I made stupid selfish mistakes that hurt others. They could be described as boyish actions. Now, I'd like to think that I see the world from a different view. Yet, I know that I will make more mistakes in the future. I just hope that they are so few.

I have serious qualms with people making generalizations like that. How about looking at individuals to deal with things you dislike? Everyone can do idiotic things, or can be really open with their sexuality. So what? What right does anyone else have to label them as an idiot or a slut? ESPECIALLY when the reason behind why they do such things is projected as being their gender. Whenever I think of such stereotypes, my mind instantly thinks of those that "break the mold" so to speak, and I just smile real big. :D

Yes many men are idiots, but there are also those out there that are unmaterialsitic and spiritual, like me. I am one of the few (around here) that is that way, and it is not easy as it used to be. There is so much pressure from popular culture on capitalism and the drive for power that many people belive that is all there is.

I belive that individuals should not be judged on race, gender or appearance; but on their actions and thoughts.
