Jeeze Themnax.

Thats a hard one.

Just about all games are based on 'things to be gained'
Must agree i like gaining knowledge in games even if it used
to weild fire and smoke.
IE: putting together potions/elements for spells in RPG games.

The closest one can come occam thinks is strategic games where
in using position and diplomacy one elevates ones position to
Primacy. Without a shot being fired.By or at you.
Thats REAL skill.

Maybe the Elder Scrolls - Morrowind. Interesting story, first person/third person option, great fantasy world and things to do like barter, walking around the world exploring, lots of side quests.

The Ultima's were tops.

Like most, I have a hefty list but to put a general descriptor upon myself for summation - I'm an EQ2 player. I just keep coming back to this game. Love the crafting system. Love the characters and quest stories. Love my RP community. But most of all... LOVE THE RATONGA!!! *chitters*

I've never played a character to max lvl, though after two years I'm finally getting my main close. But I'm not a grinder, I'm an Arpie.

But I's digress...

I find games that are great diversions from the typical kill-loot-level games are kiddie games for PS2. Dog's Life was one that was pretty different and amusing.

Checked it out..
Looks good but i have no time/money to play it.

The non linear world where you can explore to hearts content are just great.
BG and BG2 revived rpg for me after ultima.
My cleric is one tough mother.
