8 miles down the road
sweaty feet.
aching back and aching thighs;
still you're something
awful sweet.
panting and running,
we're step for step.
and yet.
you seem too far to get.
a Canada to my Tibet.
right beside you.
you know, i know,
that sound on the ground,
the concrete knows.
i'm right for you.
8 miles later,
and 80 minutes farther,
i can see us running.
we're running,
and it's stunning,
but i can see us still,
miles from where we met,
still we're running step for step.
------
i'm not one for rhyming poems, and i wrote it in about 15 minutes, but i felt too strongly about it to edit it first. hope its good.
