I just finished Jean Baudrillard's "Simulation and Simulacrum" and my mind has been blown. Has anyone else read this? He mainly discusses how simulations (as opposed to mere representations) extend beyond the semiotic relationship between object and representation by concealing that reality is actual absent. I'm not sure I can discuss it beyond that, as it's a tangle of various arguments which depend upon one another, but you should read it for yourself. A guaranteed mind fuck.
