Humility to me is just silence in the mind and being a reciever of others words not a critic. The common sense that at no time can I think I know anything that can be proven and one opinion ultimatley is as good as mine.
Without pride and arrogance I can hear and see others, not just myself and rid myself of any false ideas
it makes you open to everyones words
less a moral than a tool really
God bless, peace

humility is slave morality, used by the powerful to keep the people subservient.

It is to see others as true equals to love and understand your never going to be the best at everything. Using this knoweledge I can be more a peace with everything around me, be a little less aggressive, competitive, and a whole lot less boastful.

i read somewhere once that the root meaning of the word humility means "to know your place" humility has been misunderstood as being a doormat...is that why you think it's bad, eugene?
i understand humility as the peace of knowing that true being is just that: being, and all things and people arise in it, made of it, equal and all deserving love. our true nature never changes - we just have different ideas about how we manifest within that nature.
pride is feeling pleasure concerning ones' accomplishments and is not something that can or should be repressed.
pride is feeling pleasure concerning ones' accomplishments and is not something that can or should be repressed.pride is selfish and feeling like you are better than others - pride is something we could do without... find other words to express yourself.
look up pride and proud in the dictionary.
pride gets in the way of being a good person. we should be humble.
i impress myself with my efforts and accomplishments all the time but i do not feel superior to anyone in doing so - therefore it is better that i find another word to express how i feel so that people dont naturally think that i think i am better than they are by saying that i am proud.
dont be a proud parent be a parent who is very pleased with their child’s progress. being proud suggests that you think you child is better than everyone else’s. it is true - if you dont believe me look it up.
