What do you reckon? I personally like xbox 360. Mainly 'cause of games like Halo 3, oblivion, saints row ect.

Personally, I believe that the best console game system ever was the Super Nintendo. Some of the best games came out on it, such as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IV and VI, Super Mario World and RPG, Lufia and Lufia II, Super Mario Kart, etc.

personally i'd have t ogo with the 360, the snes and sega systems were brilliant in theyre day but now they're jus dated....the don't really compare to whats on the market now....so as i said i have a wii and a 360 at the mo plan on gettin ps3 probally, but i would have to say 360!!!

in terms of a pure System, i will choose the Wii, i have a Wii myself and think the games are awsome, as well the Virtual Console is just a simply fantastic idea

PS3 at a close second, just because it's so great for multiplayer sports games, as well as having a Blue Ray player, the blue ray player alone Imo Shits on Xbox360

the only thing i have against the wii is the lack of fun multiplayer games, yes it's nintendo, and yes nintendo usually puts out somewhat childish games, but it's a system i can only play alone even though i have 4 controllers, friends dont take much interest in it

I have the most fun with the X-box, the games play and often look better then on the Ps2 and it also has some great games which aren't on other consoles (Ninja Gaiden, KOTOR, Fable, Strangers Wrath), but most consoles have that. I'd love to play the new Zelda for instance. I saw Halo getting mentioned. Haven't played the third one, but I tried the other two since it should be fantastic. I don't see why really. Pretty average game if you ask me.
Of the newer consoles I can't say really. Ps3 could be promising, and I've not played alot on the 360 and Wii very much. I don't really dig the Wii though.

Xbox360 I think is a better console. I've always been a PS player 'cause of the FF and Koei games but now with Koei putting games out for both consoles, when I up grade I'll be leaving PS behind for an Xbox.

yeah! I grew up with a sega genesis too, it had so many fun games that kept my 6 year old mind entertained...i remeber getting really made at the alladin game once and started pressing a bunch of buttons and found out how to skip levels, it was awesome. I've had a PS2 since around the time that it came out & i'm still pretty happy with it, wont bother buying another game console until it dies...but to answer the question I like the x-box brand the most probably because I think halo is the coolest game ever and its not out for playstation.

I believe that the Wii wins hands down. I have owned a Playstation 2, an Xbox and now a Wii and feel that the Wii is really innovative and exciting. Anyone who has played the Wii loves it almost immediately and really wants to get their hands on one. The Wii is also great because of the fact that anyone can play it. Honestly. My dad plays it and prior to doing so, he has always thought of gaming as a waste of valuable time. Quite often my dad will play on the Wii into the early hours of the morning. Now that I think back on PS and Xbox, the thought of not moving while playing seems quite strange and boring really.

My conclusion - sell your console and get a Wii.

Just about what you said about the Wii! I do agree with you in some respects - the games are a lot more fun when playing with others, but I must say that you should buy a game like Zelda: TP to keep yourself entertained when you have no friends over. the one number two had in "the village" (a kind of series that was a kind of sequil to the third man/secret agent man).

ok jk i know, not a GAME console, i just have a fetish for built in desk type control panals, especialy of unusual configuration. makes it easier to immagine you were world dictator or something.

that "village" btw, would make a GREAT video game, and i can't say as i've seen anything quite like it. not that i would know. and probably something like it has been done.

the setting is a secure retirement facility for retired espianage agents (from every immaginable real and fictitious spook shop all over the planet). secure, that is, against any attempt to escape. and of course the object of the game is to do so. cooperation with those who would have been your enimies, opposite numbers in your former life outside is an important element, although backstabbing and 'snitching' is also a part of the game. after all number 2 (who was for all practical purposes the warden, although the supposedly nonexistent number one was most likely the computer itself, which actualy in the series, at least once, held an election, for number 2's replacement, which i seem to remember number 6 one, but somehow didn't get to keep. perhapse because he kept continuing to try to escape, which appearantly his election had been engineered to try and discourage. number 6 being of course, the 'viewpoint' charicter') MIGHT reward you. or not.

oh, and its not like hard time or anything either, more like the ultimate in humane country club prisons, like i say, designed not to look like a prison at all. with everyone assigned their own little personal challey cottage. all completely impersonal and identical of course, and of course perminently built in bugged every which way, for their own protection of course, but 'their own' at any rate. and plenty of social amusements available. even a park where old guys would sit for hours playing chess (as a way of commuicating with each other without being heard or obviously seen to do so by the ubiguotous bugging devices).

of course EVERYONE was ALWAYS trying to escape from there, and of course trying to be unobvious about their attempts to do so (the did have their proffessional pride after all). and there wasn't any obvious walls or fences to keep them from just leaving. except what there was, there was this big red balloon called rover, appearantly a mobile or one of a fleet of them, run by the central computer that appearantly (along with number 2 and a staff of annonimous tecnicians) ran the place (and observed what ever the rover/rovers 'saw').

One thing about Nintendo is that, while many of their games may be geared more for kids, their consoles are strictly for playing video games, not watching movies or playing music as well. That's probably the reason Nintendo's consoles are more dependable and don't break down as frequently as Sony or Microsoft consoles seem to be so prone to doing. Luckily, my Sony PS2 has not let me down in that department and my GameCube works perfectly also. I don't have X-box, X-box-360, PS3 or Wii, but I may get a Wii, if I can find one. They're hard to find!

I still like playing my Super Nintendo, has to be my favorite. I have a Wii, I love playing Manhunt 2 and Medal of Honor, it takes a while to get use to the controls for Wii when playing games like that. But Mario Galaxy for Wii is fun as hell to play.
I still also enjoy my playstation 2... But that's it really, and I haven't played any video games for a while, but reading this thread made me want to play some.

but I may get a Wii, if I can find one. They're hard to find! I had to drive an hour away to get mine, and yes, that is sad but that's also dedication.

The new consoles are shit. Waste of fucking money. Best console was Nintendo 64. Conker's Bad Fur Day, Mario 64, Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, Ocarina of Time.

Keep your Gears of War and your Halo 3 and your Bioshock and your Assassin's Creed and whatever the fuck else, they'll never be as good as the older generation games. :)

as of right now? id say Wii. mario galaxy, Twilight Princess, im sure the next star fox will be great, metroid prime 3, in 2 weeks Super Smash Bros Brawl,Resident Evil 4
id say within 2 years, PS3 will be my favorite. once FF13, and the Last Remnant come out. eventually with kingdom hearts 3 and God Of War 3. Resistance Fall of Man is great.
360 doesnt really attract me. im not into sports games and not that much into shooters. and thats where Xbox shines. the only system exclusive i like on it is halo. cant stand gears of war

with last gen it was hands down ps2. taht was the shit. i love RPGs and it had the great ones. FFX and the kingdom hearts were absolutly amazing. Devil May Cry series was exclusive back then and those games are sick. God of War, prince of persia, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Soul Calibur 3. for me, xbox just couldnt compare. Gamecube had all the classic nintendo games so it was a must have.

the way i see it, if you like video games, you gotta have a nintendo console for the classic series. and then it falls down to if your an RPG person, or sports/shooter.

nintendo is all there is! nintendo has allways been the most creative. sony is second. microsoft is pure shit! the x box is now fucked, now that hd dvd has lost the war to blu-ray. i'm sure gates will come up with some kind of patch for x box (if he has not allready!) as for playstation... sony is number 1 (for now.) i know alot of people who bought playstation 3 at 40 gb and at 60gb, and now their all fucked! sony brought out playstation 3 at 80 gb, and now the 40 gb and 60 gb can not be used! sony did say, they would sell some kind of patch to upgrade the 40 gb and the 60 gb units. i've heard the rumor that the patch will cost big money.(take the rumor for what it is. a rumor.) nintendo just launch some kind of new system. sorry but i'm behind on this. this new system of gaming data will put wii way ahead of playstation and x box. i do know, that when microsoft and sony caught wind of what nintendo did, they both jumped. anyone know more about this matter then the weak information i have? nintendo games have mostly been fair. playstation and x box games are better. yet again though nintendo shows they are the most far sighted.

Well, in the end it's about the games. So even if the Wii or Nintento in general is the most inventive and revolutionary, if they only have a couple of great games against the older and/or shitty systems of Playstation and X-box I choose for one of the other ;)
That's also why I don't have one of the newer consoles (and because it's too expensive :tongue: ), I wanna get a clear view if it's worth the buy. I already played on the Wii and 360 though, and despite Mario Galaxy and the new Zelda I wouldn't buy the Wii. The only game I digged (for a while) except those was the bowling :D
So I'm waiting which of the other two will be the most fun for me.

ive played demo's of both of these games, and seriously im not too buzzed.
Sure d fortune has AMAZING cinematics and great visual quality, but i played the thing and the gun fights suck balls, i mean its beatifull to look at and awesome when you just walk around and get soaked in water falls, but just gay when you need to kill.

heavenly sword looks gorgious aswell, and i actually wanted to buy it, but it kind of faded. ill pick it up second hand when the price drops abit. < i dunno, tbh i enjoeyed the demo of devil may cry 4 more then h sword.

this is just an oppinion, if you base judgement on personal choice of games than that sucks digitall, we all like different things.

remember in the days of S.T.A.L.K.E.R? i was buzzed about that game and loved it to bits, it wasnt JUST the graphics, but the whole survival element and sick story. you disagreed, however i accepted it as your oppinion and just said ok.

i did my research, and found out, that nintento is making the wii browser function with linux open source system! x box is finished! (maybe not.) sony can easly convert playstation to function with linux. microsoft and x box are fucked really, really, really, badly! (for now.) now consider this; over the past seven years more and more businesses, governments, and universitys have been dumping windows due to it's piss poor performance. (i did that back in 1997, and have used linux ever since. i never looked back!) linux was quite rough around the edges back in 97, but it is now in most respects better than windows. since linux is an open source system, and widows is a closed source system, what does this mean? it means that wii will function like both a cd player and an i pod. you can go and buy games at a gamming store, and you can now download games and pay a small fee like with an i pod. this is the coup d'etat... any game in the public domain can be downloaded to the wii at no cost! no doubt some of those will be far, far, better then anything playstation, or x box have. some will be worst. as things stand right now with this news, playstation 3 and wii are by far the best choices. playstation 3; because blu-ray discs can be played on it. now that hd dvd is dead and x box can only play hd dvd; that makes x box useless as a dvd player. x box is a windows closed system. it will not operate with linux. playstation 3 will soon be able to work with linux. wii will work with linux, BUT will it ever be able to play blu-ray? maybe, but not likely. no doubt the best games will be coming to playstation 3 and wii in the near future! it is never just about the games of today. that is short term and expensive as all hell too! it is allways about the system, and what is the long term outlook for the systems games. that is one hell of alot less expensive. i agree, both playstation 3 and wii are too damn expensive! (for now.) i'll stick to my playstation 2 and gamecube for now.

Well, I'm not sure. Of the former generation consoles (xbox, ps2, gamecube), X-box did an impressive job for a new console. It's my favourite of those three and also the only one I bought myself. It's ugly, big and heavy, yeah, but it has a lot of games I dig. :)

the Wii is the best new console mainly because it is so innovating, as Nintendo always are. the others are good consoles, but the Wii opens the door to so many more possibilities for game developers, as well as proving how cheap fairly advanced technology can be.
