Not one day has gone by since the day I met you
That through my mind you did not go
For a time, I didn’t wanna put my feelings out there,
Kinda fearing how to let you know
I’m still shaky at the thought
Of letting you in
But I have thoughts that ease that,
Like you smile, your touch, & us in the summer sun & wind
When I close my eyes and think about your kisses, Boo,
It only intensifies my missing you
I feel safe with you
Like a child in her daddy’s arms,
Just feeling that connection between people
In its most natural form
And when you’re not around,
I do not forget
Because I believe a person like you
Has to be Heaven-sent
Still, there’s no puppy-love here
It’s full-grown & built out of respect
You’ve changed me
And I can’t be re-set
You know, it’s easy for a boy to hit & run,
But a MAN sticks around for more than just “some”
And that’s one thing you’ve already let me see
The MAN that makes you is as plain as can be
I see strength in you
That I’m not even sure of which you’re aware
But if you used that properly,
I can see you doing big things with what’s there
Just look at me and you
You wanted it and you got it
That’s all it took
It started when you thought it
And now we’re sturdy, doing good as ever
We’re okay because we’re strong together
And you should know,
When you wrote “I am you,”
I realized I am you too
When people fall in love,
They become a part of each other
No matter what, I believe they’re forever one,
Forever some form of lovers
I need you to hear me
And know these are more than just words
These are some of my deep down thoughts,
What make my heart burn
And I’m giving you my heart
Right up out of my chest
Knowing that it’s been shattered before
By someone I did not expect
But I’m already in this
And there’s too much that I feel
If I can do little without thinking of you,
Then I know it’s real
I see your face in the clouds, the trees, and the nature outside
And I wept when they locked you up for a bullshit petty crime
I listen to your voice play in my head before I fall asleep
And in truth, when you speak, I hear a little of me
The strong hands that you possess
That you use to caress
My body & skin are etched in my mind
Like the strokes of the pencil you draw with,
Their place is easy for them to find
To me no other man looks like anything
But not you anymore
No one could just step in and take over
After you came through the door
No one can replace you because
You’re one of a kind
And I need you there for me,
All of the time
