Jack Frost is nipping at your nose
And your fingers and your toes.
You're freezing just to look
at some limestone not in a book.
The rain is falling just like tears,
While that stinging is your ears.
"Observe that spikey stylolite!
Know the pressure, oh the might
That also created the calcite joints!"
Said Dr. Winstch as he points.
"You surely all should know
What dirction the sigmas go,"
As we stared, all confused
and simply let him muse.
"What's this shit all about?
Someone, please get us out
Of going on a Saturday field trip,
I should be eating chips and a dip!"
Please, weather gods, send us snow,
so back home, we will go!

This is what I'll be doing Saturday.

Peace and love

Rain clouds gather overhead
I should be back in my bed!
Field work seems to suck
When outside you are stuck
In the freezing cold air
Makes me wish I have more hair
Or maybe more layers of clothes
This field trip really blows!

Peace and love

We walk on the roadside
There's no place to hide
While we take a hurried piss
In this awful raining mist.
No brush, bushes, and or trees
To avoid passing cars while he pees.
Oh, the woes of being a geologist
I could name them in a list.
Come rain, hail, sleet, or snow
We'll be in the field, you surely know!

Peace and love
