was just thinking about this game last night. Boy it woulda been great if I could have beat sephiroth at the end there but I just couldn't hook it and now I don't have my PS. I think I'll give it another go when I get my PS back.

Yeah, it'd be worth it to get your machine back. Best FF game ever.

Though 12 does look sexy. I just haven't gotten around to that.

I would't say this was the best Final Fantasy game. I'm more of a Final Fantasy 3 guy on the SNES.

With Terra? I have a hard time picking between Aeris and Terra for my favorite characters in a game :)

I think the series definitely peaked in the FF5-FF7 range. FF5 probably had the best gameplay of the series, while FF6 and FF7 had the best stories and music. It's so hard for me to pick a favorite, but if I had to pick just one it would be FF7, because it was the first one I played (came out in the fall of my sixth grade year) and it really blew me away. Once I got into it (I got hooked when Cloud fell into Aeris' church and the Turks showed up and all of that), I thought about NOTHING ELSE until completion, hehe

I have a lot of the FF soundtrack music on my iPod - I was just lisening to One Winged Angel the other day :)

FF7 was the only game that makes my eyes water when I hear the music :) That game is more than a game, its a freaking revolution!

The whole "cyberpunk" atmosphere is just incredible, with the swords, trains, reactors and all. God, I want to play it again now :) I played the whole game again my freshman year of college, bred a gold chocobo, leveled up to level 99 and basically did everything you can do. It was marvelous. Even Ruby and Emerald weapon were no match for me, much less Sephiroth!

Sephiroth is the coolest villain since Darth Vader, by the way!

i have one question as to ff series; is it now, or ever going to be available for a regular wintel pc, and not just dedicated gamebox systems?

and if so, where?

My opinion is that they should stop making sequels.

anybody see the movie?

all i've ever seen or heard of any of it are some clips on you tube and some sound clips, other then people talking about it on forums and galleries that have comment spaces, which has been going on for years.

i'm certainly impressed by what i have seen and heard, and while commentary on it has been volumious, even never ending, i have no real sense of the gist of it, other then the fantasticness of the artwork and music, and apperantly a really involving story line, but not enought of the latter to make any sort of rational assessment myself.

Yes they all are, at least 7-and up are, the others you can download as a ROM with an emulator for NES and SNES. :) 7 may be hard to find though, as it is quite old now!

i do like 7. its my second favorite one. but im still in love with ffX. something about the story line and everything was just so eye catching and i couldnt stop playing it once i started.
and for the guy who said XII looks good, it does, but its not that great. its decent, but it just gets boring after a while. not very much motivation in the story to keep it going. im only gonna finish it out of obligation to finish what i started. plus the fighting is different. turn based battles are gone and all you do is run up to an enemy and you automatically attack

This game is really overrated..like big time. Don't take me wrong, I have played this game, finished and enjoyed it a lot! But there's too many people that find this game too perfect. It's very good but I have played better rpg's.

Such as...? :)

If you got a golden game out there man, you gotta share it's title. It's the gamer-geek code. *nods*

Both times when the game ended I didnt want it to. Just bought a new copy of 8 not to long ago, had the same copy of 7 for years, cuz I wont let nobody borrow that game anymore.

I just hope that they rerelease it in finer form. I know that the game's designer has said that he was not entirely happy with the quality of the original, and since they released that tech demo for the PS3, and it just so happened to be FF7 they chose, my hopes are high that they'll rerelease it. I think that there is real potential there, and don't think they'll have a problem selling it. My original game is fucked beyond repair, it looks like someone took a hammer to it.

FF7 has the most insane and in depth plotline of any game I've ever known. That alone makes it worth more than most new games out there.
