hi, would anyone go to a gay restaraunt where they would be able to be themselves and kiss, cuddle, etc without the staring eyes and discrimination?

yes I certainly would, I'm trying to think if I've been to one, but I don't think I have, i've been to gay coffee shops.
I wouldn't ristrict myself just to gay ones though

if the food were good, I wouldn't give a flying toot if it were gay or straight or transgendered or whatever...

No, I'd go to a regular restaurant and ignore any negativity.

Call me wacky, but it just feels kinda like a regressive step to continue with segregation. I can see the reasoning behind it, but I can't agree with it. So yeah, if I was going out for a meal, I'd probably just pick somewhere that has nice food.
A gay-themed restaurant, now that'd be another thing.

exactly how I feel.
I mean, if it's lgtba-friendly or rainbow-friendly, that's great. Awesome and wonderful in fact. But, so long as it allows everyone in, I'm happy :)

And I disagree completely. I believe it is important to support gay-owned establishments. If the product is inferior, however, then of course one shouldn't subject oneself to it in the name of sponsorship. Certainly you'd have no objections about going to an ethnic restaurant or to a sports bar... why not a gay restaurant then?
I believe restaurants should make patrons feel safe and comfortable. I don't, however, want to go into a place where people are "making out" over their food. I don't like seeing it in straight restaurants either.

Duncan, I think that was Self-Control's point... It's important to support gay-owned establishments, I agree with you there, it's important to support more so an establishment of good business. There are no objections anywhere, I don't think, about going to an ethnic restaurant or sports bar. So why not a gay resteraunt? Sure, why not?
If it's the theme of the restaurant, whether the ethnicity is the theme or if it's 'gay-themed', there's nothing wrong with either. More important: good food, good service. Make it whatever theme you want.

I am going to remember this quote, boy howdy !
I wouldn't, I'm a person and I shouldn't have to go to another restuarant to eat just because I'm different.
Love is love.

It just seems to me like another way to alienate ourselves from the rest of society.

I would have second thoughts if they didn't let straight people in at all, but if it was gay and straight friendly that would be ok, cause most of my friends are girls

I support gay businesses, whenever I possibly can and whenever I feel, they deserve that support.
I would go to any restaurant that serves good food. Kissing and cuddling in a restaurant? I'd pass on that one. My BF and I do not do it in a restaurant and we would never go to a restaurant where anyone (str8, bi, TS, gay) does it.
Now, disco clubs, night clubs and night bars are all a very different issue...

I'm not sure what is meant by "supporting gay-owned establishments", tbh. I mean, I've never checked what someone's sexuality is when I've eaten at a restaurant because - call me shit - it seems totally irrelevant. I don't even know that gays are in need to additional support - I'm not aware that we're particularly discriminated against in terms of business ownership.
But yeah, I was being flippant about a "gay-themed" restaurant... I mean, what would that even be? Is there such a thing as "gay cuisine", the way there is with ethnic food?
