Because no one seriously believes in it as a religion.
Satanists = Stupid goth kids trying to look cool by rebelling

I have a question about that do the ppl that worship satan actaully belive in god but would rather worship satan? or do they just think satan is the only one here
Mui,
There already is such a forum.
Its called 'Christianity'
That's where all of us who are under 'The Worldly Spell Cast by the Serpent's Forked Tongue' can congratulate each other, and pretend that we're going to squeeze our 'worldly' selves through the 'Eye of the Needle'.
All that, while serving our true master.
Just try to serve two masters, and see if you can pay your worldly bills.

Just for your information, they believe in the Judeo-Christian God, but they believe that Lucifer is the God of This World. When Lucifer was cast out of Heaven, he tempted Eve an gave all of mankind free will and concious throught. They believe that the Nazarene didn't sacrafice that much when he had the promise of everlasting life in Heaven. Now, when Lucifer faught against Yewah, he knew what he was doing. He became the Lord of Men.
He gave up eternal life in Heaven to release mankind from God's ironfist.
He changed them from being sheep into free thinking people.

If that's an accurate description of satanism, it certainly sounds a lot more reasonable than Christianity.
With that said, I still think satanism is mostly a "religion" for dumbass goth kids trying to look cool.
There r a lot of different groups that claim to be satanists... some are atheist groups who use satan as a symbol for that which is the opposite of christianity...
Im just wondering
and what kind of dumbass (insert ignorant label here, probably hippy) kid trying to look cool are you?

its not scarey i promise :) i thought about it , but expalinig to people that your a satanist seemed hard work ... If i joined my local satanist group i think they would be the stereotypical image or people that just liked to get together and talk about trains or something (after they had made their sacrifice of course)
I am looking at paganism at the moment..
How fickle am i :)

I think La Vey satanism is very ignorant.
Just my opinion.
I have read the Satanic Bible and I love some of the ethics, but the 'religion' in itself is quite oblivious to life.
Don't make the mistake of the masses by taking the concept 'Satan' literally.
Satan is not a real person or being, but simply a metaphoric symbol.
A symbol use by a people exploring the roots of their descent, from an Edenic 'State of Being', into this worldly psychotic delusion we call 'Hierarchical Civilization'.
Once we fell under the 'Serpent's' worldly spell, and ate from The Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil we fell under a deadly illusion.
The separation of Good from Evil is an illusion.
Knowledge is an illusion.
The illusion of Object Subject separation.
The separation of the Knower from the Known.
Remember the words of the 'Ancient Wanderer', "Only those who don't know truely know".
To know the wind, one must 'BE' the wind.
This is not the Civilized State of Knowing, but the Existential State of Being.
Our separation from the wind is The Serpent's ignorance.
The Edenic 'State of Being' is an eternal state of spontaneous wholeness and oneness, beyond the illusion of separation.
The Eternal Child, where every moment is experienced as a spontaneous eternity.
When we ate of The Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil, we died.
We exist today only as Zombies.
Civilized Zombies dead to the spontaneous heavenly paradise that exists right here in our hearts right now; if only we had the faith to be alive to it.
So says Jesus.

do serious satanists get pissed when they see someone wearing a "hail seitan" shirt?
i've talked to some members of the church of satan and they all use the phrase hail satan... even though they dont believe in any sort of demonic or godlike form of "satan"

seitan is some kind of grain stuff that vegans eat a lot, i guess. i was wondering if people who take it seriously get irritated by some flippant reference to hail satan. but since satan isn't really considered a deity of any sort, treating the concept of him flippantly wouldn't really be bad.

Satan may not be a real diety of being to them, but it is still an insult to their religious beliefes.
I mean, if someone was wearing a shirt with a big upside down cross on it, you'd be offended, no?
I mean, the cross isn't a real being, but it is a symbol of something you hold dear.
Now, don't be confused, there are thoes out there who do worship the Fallen Lucifer.
They would be liable to come and crucify you if you had that shirt on you were talking about.
EEK.

well, i'm not talking about wearing it myself, since i'm not a vegan. but i did see them one day and i thought about that. however, part of their 'beliefs' is ultimate freedom, right? so technically, being angry with someone for mocking their beliefs would be wrong, right? it's just a conundrum that stuck with me, since i haven't had anyone to ask.
as for inverted crosses, i'm not actually offended by them at all. i may roll my eyes at someone wearing it as a proclamation against christ, since my first church's symbol of St. Andrew was an inverted cross. he didn't consider himself worthy to assume the same position on the cross as christ. therefore an inverted cross is actually a reference to those martyrs who respected christ's death so much that they chose a different position.
uh, i dont htink they would get offended at all...
why would they
theyd probably think it was funny =p

so you're not a satanist? i mean, i would think that they wouldn't be bothered, but you never can tell with people, you know?
anyone who would be anal enough to get offended over a t-shirt about vegetarianism, would not be intelligent enough to follow the precepts of satanism.

I would like to see a satanist section. I think it would be a good place to discuss different satanic beliefs, ie Crowley vs LaVey. A common misconception is that we are Anti-Christians ie we worship the Christian devil and we're real evil or something. I would just like a place to talk about it with others that we could be taken a little more seriouslly then being refered to as "Stupid goth kids trying to look cool by rebelling"

what i got out of the bible was not that it was ok to overindulge, but that it was ok to indulge, and not remain abstinant. hell, i dont even think lavey advocated drug use. if i remember correctly, his point was that it was alright to indulge responsibly.

To my understanding, LaVey didn't use drugs, but he wasn't anti-drugs.
But, Crowley on the other hand, believed drugs to be spiritual tools, so he used them often.

I am sure you could find tons of others on other forums. It would cause way too much controversy on here.

Whoa now... This is the forum that has threads ranging from incest to Bush being a murdering fuck, and the concept of a different religion would upset the whole forum through contreversy? Can't we get a little subfolder for Satanism and if your a Christian and highly upset by it, stay out... Its not a huge request
Nathan: Yes I am a LaVey Satanist
As far as I know LaVey didnt do any drugs but drank wine.
Migu: Yeah thats pretty much it... Do what you feel is ok.
yea no kidding, it wouldn't cause any more controversy than any of the other forums...
it wouldnt be that hard to add a satanist category would it??

To clarify, Satanists are not about rape, murder or animal sacrifice.... Hell were not even about random acts of violence. Were just people like every other religion. We're big boys and girls and can handle the random Right wing nut coming in and telling us were going to hell.
