not standing before God and having him tell you his opinion of you(cuz you know he would tell you that you look just mah-velous)...

but the last judgement is actually the end of judgment itself.

If you look around on Earth right now, people judge each other everywhere and people are suffering massively on a collective level because of this. Walk down the street of any city and you can feel judgements jumpin out at you from everywhere...people naturally judge each other everyday in every way...which creates so much subconscious fear that it is ridiculous.

Most people do not feel geniuinely loved or understood by other people, because their neurosis's about expressing love for other people has taught them that loving other people weak...and only judgmental people with high standards are strong people...which is other than close to the truth of the matter.

The more and more we can get out of judgment and into compassion, the better off we will all be.

I picked this up from a famous lecturer/author Marianne Williamson. I highly recommend her audio books which I think you can download online from her web site.....

there is no last anything, for all we can every be entirely certain about it.

certainly if we did less judging and more avoiding of causing suffering and harm we would suffer and be harmed far less then we currently are.

and i think if this was your lecturer and author's point it is clearly a valid one.

and i think ghandi and buddha and several others have made this same point, each in different words and ways. even christ may at times have been attempting to. though in the latter case this is somewhat less clear. not that there is ambiguity in the numberous quotes to that effect, but rather in the equaly numerous ones that appear to contradict it, or at least seem popularly interpreted in ways which defacto do so.
