My God! I've never seen a David Lynch film before last night, and I must say that this man is verging on genius! He's like a modern day Hitchcock!
For those who have seen it, what are your interpretations on it?

Interpretations? Not a f*cking clue:D
If you like that, watch Lost Highway...
What am I saying, watch all of David Lynch's films!

I haven't seen it, but a book I was reading last night mentioned the hot lesbian scenes and stressed female masturbation.

Well I've only seen it once ... need to watch it again really. But I remember thinking "what the fuck?" Had absolutely no idea what the thing was about other than blurred identity. I've read that part of the film is a dream, but didn't pick that up myself at all. It's probably Lynch's most obscure film (I've seen most of them).
What did you like about it and what did you think it was about, young Matthews?

I liked the sheer surrealist effect it had on the audience, and also how everything related to the story and the characteristics of the protagonist (Betty/Diane).
I believe that the first part of the movie was a dream, how how Betty dreamt of wanting to be what her counterpart, and lover, was (Rita, played by Laura Harring). She used her dream to take the pressure of herself and for her to not think that it was her fault that she didn't get the role in the film, and it was due to higher powers, not her acting ability.
