The Kookaburra has been one of my favourite animals for a long time, i just find them so beautifull, and cheerfull, friendly. I just love that laughing sound they make. And since i've been pretty depressed lately i think a lot of them. anyway, i just wanted to share this or something i don't know,

Hope you enjoy,
Peace

A long time ago before man came, the ancient birds and animals had only the light of the stars and moon.
Dinewan the Emo and Brolga the Native Companion spent the time fighting like most animals in this eerie gloom.
Dinewan flung Brolga on his back and started clawing the smaller bird with his sharp talons.
Wriggling free, Brolga ran away and taking an egg from Dinewan's nest, threw it high into the air.
Instead of falling back to the ground, the emo egg kept going,
drawn up by the sky spirits who smashed the egg over some burning embers.
The yellow yoke spread over the burning embers to become a big fiery ball throwing light and warmth on all the valleys and places where the animals lived.
The sky spirits were pleased with the beauty of the world and the rainbow colours over streaming new forests, and they agreed to light such a fire every day.
But they were suprised to find that the animals slept in.
"We will light a morning star," said the sky spirits, "to wake the animals to let them know the fire is being lit."
but still the lazy animals slept in.
"Light is not enough, for they have their eyes closed. We need a sound, But who will make the right sounds?"
Just then they heard "koo-gour-gagaga!" far below. They flew down to see a kookaburra singing merrily on the bough of a tree.
"Koo-gour-gaga, could you wake everybody when the evening star pales?" Otherwise we won't light the big fire every morning."
"Of course i will," said Koo-gour-gaga, "I like the sound of my own voice!" And he let an ear piercing shriek of laughter ring out over the forest. "Koo-gour-gaga-gaga!"
To this day, the sun fire is kindled at dawn, reaches it's blazing height at midday, dwindles to an ember and is kept aglow wrapped in a fleecy cloud by the sky spirits, to be set alight again by the heralding laughter of " "Koo-gour-gaga-gaga."

pagina niet gevandon. pity. i'd have loved to capture the wav of that.

i do have have someone doing the didge version from a didge site though.
i forget which one.

there's probable a sound sample on arc-ive too, just as a guess.

i'm usually not much of a bird person, more about little guys with fur, but the loon's necklace is a cool one too.

Ha cool, alright what do you like, I'm sure we got something you like;
We're a Jam Band, and we try to leave no area un(dis)coverd.
From classical piano concerts to drum 'n bass tekno triphop, and everything in between, i could go on for hours trying to put it into words, but it's best to you give it a listen.
and keep in mind that these are 100% one off improvised jams.

I think stuff like this will be appreciated be anyone with a soul;

This is one particular session that turned out pretty neat, this has a more classical feel to it, and i really don't usually play like that, i'll sorthah beside myself at times...

(this last one is a bit messy, i'd been playing for about 56 tracks straight and the cramp kinda got to me there... still hope it's audible for you)

about that electronica stuff if you dig that, try some of this;

Now again keep in mind, that this is 100% improv, 100% Live work, there are no sequencers present or active, it's all manually tapped, just some effects here 'n there and a bass guitar.

Or perhaps you like it more groovin?

i like arythmic sound sculptures as well as hypersyncopated rythmic ones.

i actually read sheet music, and have a pretty good idea what a key is and a chord progression. i don't have anything any more to practice on and i've never been in a band outside of just school band when i was in highschool. where i played french horn and before that mellophone. i'll take that back. i was also in a local recorder consort. never could get my hand comfortably arround a fret board, but recorders are my friend and sort of half way taught myself keyboards once upon a time, when i was waiting for computers to become available. all ancient history so to speak.

i've been playing arround with sounds though lately a little bit, on the computer with studio-41, bathory-kitz's ionic performer emulation, and flex music, mixing them down with audacity. but i don't have any controller to input with, just making patches and setting knobs with the mouse.

of what i've done so far there's only a couple of things i'm close to happy with, but it does seem to gratify something in me.

rogue elements, numina, aeterna, those are my inspirations, along with the origenal tangarene dream and klaus shultze, that space music kind of thing.

i've listened to about four of em so far; the first one, 50, and 05 and 06 (the effects ones). piano and base sound good. drummer gets a little too much of the mike though.

i had to bring em up a bit in audacity, i hope you don't mind, in order to actually hear what was going on in them. sounded pretty good mostly. i'm just not into that much snare and cymbol, but i guess that might be just me.

also thanks a bunch for putting them up there.
