The Old Fisherman and Intuition

In the south of the land where the western world sinks into the Atlantic, so goes the tale, a small group of knights and fishermen lived peacefully alongside one another. The knights' castle was ruled by a wise man, whom no one really saw or knew. One day this man heard of a wise old fisherman who always had the richest catches of anyone in the village. The knight learned that this old fisherman intended to point out exactly all the richest fishing grounds on a large map. So, the knight saddled his horse and made his way into the village. When he found the fisherman he questioned him about his intention: 'Why do you want to do this? Whom do you want to serve?'

'Oh worthy knight, I am an old man, and before I die I want to pass my knowledge on to the living.'

'To what do you owe your knowledge?' asked the knight.

'Well,' said the fisherman, 'I owe it to my good nose, to my rich and vast experience and, above all, to my intuition.'

'So, why do you want to rob the young men of the village of the chance to develop a good nose, rich experience and, above all, their own good intuition?'

The old fisherman turned away without a word, smiling. Today, on his gravestone one can still read: "I took my knowledge with me to the grave, but I leave you Intuition'.
