The beatles are awsome for any situation. Seriously I listen to sgt. peppers religiously everynight while I'm smoking..and white album if tripping..the new love album is the best of both worlds and works for both.

floyd.. or ekoostik hookah.. i like to listen to floyd through ear phones when im high or tripping because the music surrounds you. ekoostik hookah is an ohio band.. but any ohio hippie will tell you about their amazing music. the doors are great too, but you have to have a different sense of hearing for that.

The best song to listen whilst your high is Led Zeppelin - Tea for one !!
It´s by far the trippyest song ever created, man its taken me for extremely long rides especially when im on acid !! It probably works for pot too but i have not listened to it after just smoking grass.

Here's a few of my old favorites-The Beatles -Sargent Peppers'-13th Floor Elevators-Moby Grape-Chambers Bros album with Time (has come today)-Country Joe and the Fish 1st album whole thing!-very trippy!-Pink Floyds first album with "Intersteller Overdrive" and Syd Barrett was still with em and grounded-Vanilla Fudge 1st album-w/ "You Keep Me Hanging On"-also I dug the Electric Flag which is a great blues/rock fusion of hippy /trippy this and that-basically the 1st album was the best-with the song "Find Yourself Another Country-"which kinda gives ya an idea of the mood of the country at that time due to the never ending war-I like Canned Heat with "Amphetimine Annie" and "Goin Up The Country"-Jefferson Airplanes first album was great-It is more folk rock then heavy electric and features their first female lead singer-They added Gace Slick on the next one but I like this first one-called Takes Off-Any early Bob Dylan and Cream and Steppenwolf-Traffic-Yardbirds-Blue Cheer and on an on-enjoy-Remember-some of the cuts may sound rough but the recording equipment was nothing like it is now-If you want live streaming 60s concerts go to Wolfgangs Vault and click on The Vault Radio-free concerts from way back when!-O-One morwe I used to love when I got sideways was Donovans Sunshine Superman-ALL HAIL ATLANTIS!

The Electric Prunes and although his music isn't exactly psychadelic, I'd recommend David Axelrod. His late 60's early 70's stuff was sublime

I checked out Boogie Matrix Mecanism... I like the guitar I also see they have a touch of psichadellic to them but it is too evident that they are modern I can almost hear some red hot chili pepers in them (vocals) so they are not for me....
I like the real old stuff.. Led Zeppelin, The Doord (saw them in 2004) Grateful dead etc...

its my brothers band and they have a great pyschedelic feeling to them. i've known the best since they were nothing to them releasing their cd. its just great to hear the transition. you might like some of the other songs that aren't on the website because those just happened to be the lead singers pick and not the band pick. the guitarist, johnny k, is a wonderful musician! he makes me trip so fucking hard when I listen to their music. thanks for checkin it out though!

grateful dead.
phish.
dave matthews.
string cheese incident.
beatles.

listen to "a day in the life" (beatles)
and "bug" (phish) while you're stoned
and get completely lost in the music
and you will start spinning into the music
and spinning out of it and pretty soon
the song is over and you feel spent
that's how powerful it is
yeah, those are my picks.

Dude Check out The band Stark Reality, they were a band in the 60's and 70's that arent that well known, I think they made one album
but they were on acid the whole time recording it, i heard some of theyre shit, and id say its the most psycedelic
thing ive heard... Even taking into account, Jimi hendrix, Pink floyd, Grateful dead, Byrds, Cream, Blind Faith, Beatles, Led Zepplin, velvet underground. Some of the Miles Davis Bitches Brew stuff kicks ass too... with John Mclaughlin from Mahavishnu orchestra..

Hmm, let me see..
Grateful Dead - I LOVE Nightfall of Diamonds, and Without a Net. Both really excellent CDs, of the Dead as they were best - live!
Pretty rare, but have a look out for The Beat of The Earth - their self-titled (and, sadly, only) album is awesome. You can imagine they're all tripping majorly when they were recording ;) sort of Velvet Underground meets Ravi Shankar.
On that note, Velvet Underground are great too. Check out Venus in Furs, Heroin, etc. Steer clear of their later stuff though, the shite with Nico on it. Lou Reed or nothing!
Jazz is also great. Miles Davis, Harry Koenig (Pink Light, Blue Light), and The Dave Brubeck Quartet. Have yourself a good trip!

i can imagine sonic youth would be quite an experience while trippin, check them out, they sound a littlebit like a bad trip to me
