The simple answer is in the Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas area.
The complex answer is what Rainbow Gathering do you mean? The American national gathering? "A Gathering of the Tribes" in the ozarks? The international gathering? The non-commercial, non-permitted Autonomous Mutant Fest? A potential split western/California gathering "regional"?

Arkansas, Texas, or Oklahoma is the only info we have for the annual National Gathering. Spring Council will figure out exacltly where it will be held. Sites like www.welcomehere.org and www.welcomehome.org will post info when it's available, and may also have info on regional gatherings, but Rainbows don't usually plan TOO far ahead. :)

just hope for the Ozark mountains of Arkansas....there shouldnt be too bad of a water problem....I hope. We have had a non typical amount of snow in this region so the water tables should have gotten an extra boost, plus spring is yet to come so there will be more moisture yet. Anyone travelling in this part of the nation during springtime runoff should float down the Buffalo River or others....very serene and wild.

Lots o' love

I'm keeping my eye out for more information about the national gathering, but to be honest with you, I'd like to be able to attend all of the gatherings that you've mentioned. I'm really interested in getting to know like minded people.

Where the Gathering will be in 2007

This year the annual North American Rainbow Gathering (hence referred to as the Gathering) will be near Fallsville, Arkansas. Directions: Go to Fallsville, Arkansas, which is at the junction of Hwy 16 and 21. Fallsville is north of Clarksville and south west of Jasper. A map of the area is here (http://mapper.acme.com/?ll=35.79220,-93.47056&z=15&t=S&marker0=35.77936%2C-93.46965%2CfALLSVILLE%5C%2C%20ARKANSAS&marker1=34.81708%2C-91.49540%2CALLSVILLE%5C%2C%20ARKANSAS). Go about 1 1/4 miles NE of Fallsville to FS 1463. Go north, and park someplace on the sides of the road.

There was no clear Spring Council consensus this year, but this appears to be where folks on the land are going as of today. The USFS has given their approval that this site doesn't have any environmental or other issues that would prevent this site from being usable. Since there is no clear consensus, some scouts are pushing an alternate site by Shores Lake, Arkansas. Directions to that site are: Interstate 40 to exit 24. Go straight north to Shores Lake. Keep driving past the camping area and continue till the road crosses the creek. I believe this link (http://mapper.acme.com/?ll=35.63574,-93.93594&z=14&t=T&marker0=35.77936%2C-93.46965%2CfALLSVILLE%5C%2C%20ARKANSAS&marker1=36.59944%2C-97.05278%2CSalt%20Fork%20Arkansas%20River%20OK&marker2=35.63574%2C-93.93594%2C11.4%20km%20NxNW%20of%20Franklin%20Coun ty%20AR) points to this site. The USFS has also given their approval of this site as well.

Great! So we have a choice? Are there going to be two neighboring gatherings both blessed by USFS? That will be different!

Hey Everyone! This year was the first time I ever heard of the gathering. A couple of friends told me about it. I am so excited about going. As far as I know it is in the Ozarks. It is in the upper part of Arkansas. I have been reading news articles and have read that this gathering goes on for weeks. Anywho, We are all driving up there Saturday morning. Is this the gathering everyone is talking about? I was reading comments and there was one that stated it depends on which gathering you are refering to. I was just wondering if anyone had some insight on rather or not everyone who will be attending is coming to the Ozarks or if there are other gatherings elsewhere in the United States. I am from Little Rock Arkansas.

Does anyone know when and where the Rainbow Gathering 2007 will be held? Thanks.
I do believe the gathering is going to be held in the Ozark mountians. They are in the northern part of Arkansas. My friends and I are driving up there Saturday morning. If you google Rainbow Gathering there are a few articles on it.
