actually codeine is not refined opium... opium is made up of many different substances, and codeine just happens to be one of them, and since you do have morphine inside the pods, it would make sense if he had enough pod powder, and put it in a vape, that the morphine would evapourate out of the powder ?

and don't try smoking pods. you'll tar the shit out of your lungs, and might even inhale mold spores that have grown on the dried pods, giving yourself a severe fungal infection in your lungs.

hmmmm. sorry it took me so long to reply acga... i actually just followed your poppy-pod-tea-opium-extraction-method and am down to a thickish gooey brown substance in my pan, and am not sure what to do with it at the moment. I have no good way to smoke it and I read somewhere that I could dry it on cigarette papers and then smoke directley in a bong instead of having to heat it indirectly as the straight up tar.

anyway to respond to your question you are right. VAPEing very very fine poppy straw at about 90C might work, but I wonder if 90C isnt also enough to burn some of the poppy straw too... thats pretty fucking hot.

anyway, my criticism for the OP was that he (i think) was talking about grinding up pods and loading them into a bong and then smoking a shit ton of them to try to get high. which is ridiculous.

if you have any info on this cigarette paper method OR on an easy way to smoke the tarry substance that I will end up with in a day or so when it dries that would be helpful.
