i remember wheni was younger the day my older brother showed me how to make an ice ball. when he left to go shovel snow, i tried to make it a different way but putting lots of snowin a little bit of water...except kept my gloves on and they attached to my hands for ever. i was afriad to show my mom so i walked to the house my brother was shoveling and he took me inside the neighbors house and ran my hands under hot water. he was nice...then.
member any winter stories of your childhood?
and this was the year my little sister drowned my kitten.

I used to make lots of snow balls in the winter and the I'd take them inside and put them in the freezer so that when summer came 'round, we could have a snowball fight. Also I would make snow scupltures of bunnies in random areas like parks and such and see how long they'd last.
But the year I remember the most was when there was an ice storm, when all the schools finally had to be closed for weeks, the power went out frequently, and trees would fall down. It was one of the best winters ever! Why? I'm not sure.

i remember the snow and how beautiful it was, how it hid all the crap and garbage. i remember enjoying seeing the rotory snow pows go by on the railroad when the drifts were nice and deep and we lived up on top of the hill (donner summit) where it frequently got that way much of the year.
i really didn't usualy care all that much for being out in it, i just remember how much i loved seeing it.

i used to love the snow so much when i was little!! me, my little bro, and my cousins would all meet up and go sled riding on this really big hill by our house. the older cousins used to build really big ramps w/ their quads and would jump them w/ the sleds to see how far and high they could go. lol
and since the hill was so big, we would pull each other up the hill w/ the quads, so we didn't have to walk clear up the hill, cause it was SOO tiring!
but now we barely go up there cause we're all older.. i dont even like the winter that much anymore. it makes me too damn cold!! lol but i do think winter is really beautiful.. if i'm inside and in the warmth!

yea, me and friends used to shovel out cars for a small fee. a few dollars and us kids would shovel out your car. we'd make $20 for a few hours of shoveling, each kid got $5 and we bought candy at the store. with all the snow shoveled away from cars, we built huge forts on the corner of the streets, right in front of my house. then we had snowball fights. :D
then there was sledding :D we loved sledding. building jumps was great. i still sled, just more dangerous, like sledding down a mountain :D

The most fun I had playing in the snow, was when my sisters and I decided to make as many snowmen as we could.
We ended up making eight snowmen in all (and as usual) at the end of the day we had a snowball fight in which we used the snowmen as shields :)

When I was a kid and in school, the snow had settled. We went out into the field and I learned how to make a snowman. There were some kids who had mittens tied to their jacket all year round. I remember that day when it snowed. It was wonderfully new.

This is my last winter before I'm an 'adult' too, I never thought about it. Kind of depressing haha. But I don't think it'll change the feeling I get during wintertime, and I'll always make sure I find time to play in the snow. I guess I don't actually have to play in it though, just to take a walk would be nice. What I'm trying to say is that there are certain things that I think will always give me the feeling of being a kid again so it won't matter how old I get, winter's one of them :D

its sad though because i have 3 siblings ranging from 25 to 15. and we used to play so much through out winter. we used to make snowmen, made forts, shoveld drive wayy for 5 dollars each kid and some hot chocolate included in that. we played all with the kids in the nieghborhood pretending to snowboard and jsut "swimming" in the snow. and when the snow plow man came, he would always tell us to get off the damn street and it just reminded us that we would never become that person who took the snow away from the streets-drive waves ok- but not streets. i had some sweet times in the snow.

i longed for snow days, while parents had to work, we played in the snow

yep...but my mom had this rule. she was like "your either in or out for the day" we couldnt come in unless we stayed inside the whole rest of the days because we'd track so much snow in the house...and she would only turn the fire place on for like 30 min every other day. haha i just rememberd my older borther HATED my little sisters FURBEE and threw it into the fire place one year... she saved it but its ass was all burnt black b/c of the shitty material...

"your either in or out for the day" thats hilarious... and since i have poor circulation in my hands and feet, my hands and feet would FREEZE and i would always want to come in early, but mom wouldnt let me cause then 10 minutes later i'd wanna go back outside lol

wow, that rule sucks
only rule we had was take the snowsuit and boots off before you come up the stairs - this worked well for us
but i rarely was ever inside, every few hours or so to get some food and hot cocoa (i love hot cocoa!! :D) and then head back out with fresh gloves and hats (warmed up in the dryer)

One winter I tried to make an Ice Skating Rink in my backyard (bad idea)
I discovered that using the garden hose when the temperature outside is zero degree's tends to cause pipes to burst :leaving:

I didn't realize that my parents turned off the outside water feed so the pipes won't freeze. so when I turned on the water (first at the main junction) and then at the spigot .....:leaving:

I love snow too!
It just remainds me of how much people can be happy while they are doing something fun!
And I wish they all stay like that forever. But they don't. As soon as they go back home - they are miserable again:(
