Scientology is sick sick sick, im not saying the people them selves are sick, but the actions of the church on the whole are disgusting. They will do everything they can to destroy innocent lives, simply for the act of dissagrement. They will rip your whole life apart, and i only feel free to say this as i have nothing they can take from me. They dig up as much dirt as possible, and what they cant find they make up. Everyone should be aware of their lies as ignorence can only hurt the uninformed.

Check out the book "Sex and Rockets" by John Carter. It is a biography of Jack Parsons, a pioneer of early American rocket propulsion of a co-founder of Nasa's, Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Parson's was the number 2 man in the Alester Crowly's O.T.O., in the US. L.Ron Hubbard was heavily involved with this group a Parson's even rented a room to him in his house. Hubbard later stole Parson's girlfriend and a boat. I think L.Ron learn most of his teachings from his group, note that this group was also notorious for drug fueled rituals and magic practices. Lots more dirt of Hubbard in the book.

Parson's was the number 2 man in the Alester Crowly's O.T.O., in the US. L.Ron Hubbard was heavily involved with this group a Parson's even rented a room to him in his house. It's true that Aleister Crowley was one of the earliest members of Ordo Templi Orientis, but was long gone by the time these people joined.
I think L.Ron learn most of his teachings from his group, note that this group was also notorious for drug fueled rituals and magic practices. O.T.O is a masonic type organization that could be labelled gnostic, and yes, it has got a lot to do with magic, but please - just because Crowley was indulging in all sorts of drugs doesn't mean that all O.T.O members do drugs. There are big differences between the teachings of O.T.O / Thelema and Scientology.
Not everything you read is truth. Now, please explain your dislike of Scientology. I have no access to this book that was mentioned but am rather interested in everyones opinion on scientology.

The main overall evil of Scientology is that it is rather cheesy. Many other science fiction writers could have made up a much better religion. Now, if they actually had some super secret advanced technologies and could get me a flying saucer for personal use, I would join in a minute.
The book I mentioned above is actually very well documented and detailled, referenced and cross-referrenced to public records, court documents, FBI files, etc. Jack Parsons' and his friendship with Hubbard is not denied by official Scientology public relations statements, it is just downplayed. The core of Scientology's mental teachings is basically the same as what Hubbard learned from Parsons' and the OTO, which the OTO got from other older religions.

Thanks for telling me a bit more about your views on this. I know a bit about Thelema/O.T.O but nothing of Scientology. so it's interesting to know what the connection is. The older religions O.T.O is based on; I take it you are referring to the Kabbalah?

Scientology also caters to the rich followers. For instance, when Tom Cruise goes on a retreat, the regular non-rich followers have to do all sorts of crazy stuff to carry out his every whim. Followers are also told that they need to give large amounts of money to attain certain levels in Scientology.
The OTO is philoshopically based on a mixture of several different older teachings. Ranging from parts of eastern mysticism to pagan mystery schools and lots of stuff inbetween.
This link also includes some information relating to Charles Manson's relationship to scientology-

Here is a great presentation on the real evils of $cientology, including several deaths. http://www.theunfunnytruth.ytmnd.com/ Anyone considering scientology should watch this. Here is a link to a tribe dedicated to the dislike of scientology. http://scientology.tribe.net/
Among the countries that do not consider Scientology a religion are Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, and Spain, as well as Israel and Mexico." - Quoted from official German Embassy Web site

The more you read about them, how enormous an organization it actually is.. How much they profit, & own..The creepier it gets. It's great fodder for horror.
I have a friend who is just now being courted by them. I'm worried about him, & his family.
Here's a copy of an article from time magazine...

Scientology: The Thriving Cult of Greed and Power.
This famous article critical of Scientology has been the target of an organized book-burning campaign by Scientologists as detailed in the Scarff deposition. The piece was awarded the Gerald Loeb Award for distinguished business and financial journalism, the Worth Bingham Prize and the Conscience in Media Awards from the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
By republishing it into the digital domain of the Usenet we hope to confer a kind of immortality on it that Scientology never does on either the perpetrators or victims of its crimes.

Even as the cult of Scientology tries to destroy the truth, the truth shall be loosed over the planet forever.

Governments in Opposition to Scientology:Feb 8, 2000
BBC News Online: France: recommends dissolving Scientologists:
A government committee in France has recommended dissolving the Church of Scientology there, on the grounds that its activities threaten public order. A report submitted to the prime minister, Lionel Jospin, described the church as a totalitarian sect that kept files containing personal information on its members. It said it was an extremely dangerous organisation that violated human dignity.

Church 'fails test' for charity status : Britain:
The Church of Scientology was yesterday barred from charitable status after the Charity Commission ruled that it failed to promote the "moral and spiritual welfare" of the community.

Scientology Banned in Greece :
In Greece, an Athens Administrative Court passed a judgment which affects Scientology materially. It states that the psycho-sect is to be banned. The judge stated that the financial machinations of the commercial sect were not compatible with the public welfare.

The Giant Scientology Octopus :
German Federal Labor Minister Norbert Bluem (CDU) urged a "substantially rigorous, faster opposition" to the "Scientology" sect, which is active in Germany. He regards the sect as a "criminal money-laundering organization which is intent on expanding its delusional ideology worldwide under the pretext of religion and will stop at nothing." "It is high time that the big wheels of this human-despising cartel of suppression finally receive our message loud and clear: they are criminal!" "Potential members are put into psychologically and physically dependent relationships. They are subjected to brainwashing; their personalities are systematically destroyed. Then they are materially exploited without end. Even though we know all this, far too little has really been able to be done in effectively opposing this organization."

from http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/scientology
According to Hubbard, some of the past traumas may have been deliberately inflicted in the form of "implants" used by extraterrestrial dictatorships such as Helatrobus to brainwash and control humans. Scientology doctrine includes a wide variety of beliefs in complex extraterrestrial civilizations and alien interventions in Earthly events, collectively described by Hubbard as "space opera". There is a huge Church of Spiritual Technology symbol carved into the ground at Scientology's Trementina Base that is visible from passing aircraft or from satellite photography.[15] Washington Post reporter Richard Leiby wrote, "Former Scientologists familiar with Hubbard’s teachings on reincarnation say the symbol marks a “return point” so loyal staff members know where they can find the founder’s works when they travel here in the future from other places in the universe."[16]BAWAHOUHAAAAA BWAAAA HAHAHAHAHA HAAAAAAAR H oH OUHA WAH OOOH HAWAAAARRWAHAA HA HA HA HAAAAR !!! scientology is up there with mormon. it's ideas are retarded, i'd think anything with -scien in it should have atleast something to do with science. and, i can get more religious insight from the video game prey, which makes 100 times more sense. basically, it says that aliens planted mankind like a plant, and waited til it was at it's peak and harvested it. for all we know, that could be true. ofcourse i'm not seriously suggesting this idea. but it's sure as hell alot of a better idea than scientology.

I have no respect for Scientology after L. Ron Hubbard once referred to Jesus Christ as a hot-tempered paedophile.
Also, it's a religion that is riding on the coat-tails of the rich and famous in order to survive.

I wached that Panorama programme about it. The way they conducted themselves. Stalking. Lying. Shouting. Hypocrisy. I just can't respect them anymore. My heart goes out to those who have suffered.
I heard scientologists eat placenta.
