Dimethyltryptamine extraction question

I've heard that it's highly soluble in cold water. If this is true I'm wondering if it would be possible to simply grind 12g of Mimosa Hostilis into a fine powder and let it rest in (acidified?)cold water for an hour or so then strain it.

Would the resulting liquid contain a significant quanity of DMT? What about the leftover paste, worth drying and putting in a capsule?
