Which Sci Fi?

Which type of science fiction is you? Romantical, Comical, or just downright SCARY!

Of the three, I reckon the Dune kind of universe. But I'd go for the utopian world of Star Trek, a future with no money, complete freedom and no inequality where humans are, shockingly, good....

I would put the original Star Trek in romantic comedy *hehe*, but you can only choose one here.
You could always boycot the poll and just yell "STAR TREK!" at the top of your voice I suppose! I won't hold it against you :p

I see Star Trek and Babylon5 and SG1 and the rest of that rabble as soap in space... *runs and hides*

That's blasphemy! :p Star Trek's in a different league. It pushes boundaries and the other shows follow, often by poor imitation. Star Gate was a good film, very original. I watched it soon after getting back from Egypt, and loved the play on the Egyptian gods as alien dictators. SG1 ripped a great film up and leeched off Star Trek in the process....

Dune was a terrible film, great book though.

I personally loved it! Each to their own.
I would class it as quite romantic though, less technical - more heartfelt and not as political as the books. Did you read all the books fountains? I read the first and gave up on the rest!

Nah, I've not read them all, just Dune. I've become obsessed with James Clavell and therefore have no time to read anything else.

Not sure I've read any James Clavell, what's he like?Truly amazing. You may have heard of some of his books because they've been made into films, tv series'... (Shogun, The Noble House, King Rat, Taipan etc)?

The screenplays are pretty good too because Clavell is also a screen-writer and had a lot of input into the them.

Ah! Shogun, yes I never got round to reading that! Thanks for reminding me. I heard of King Rat too somehow, I'm not that well read you see... mainly a fantasy/sci-fi person really.

I think Clavell is a literary genius. I couldn't possibly begin to even explain any of his books. There's always what's on the blurb, plus a thousand more storylines that connect and unravel.
