ous avons un consensus pour le site!! (Version française plus bas)

Pomponne Lake, La Vérendry Park

Today on this day out of time we attained consensus in St-Faustin
where the Turtle Island World Rainbow Gathering is going to happen.
With five countries and three continents sitting in a sacred circle
we consensed to make the gathering at Lac Pomponne on the invitation
of Anishnabe elders on the land of Mary White Duck. We have a three
football fields wide clearing for the big tipi circle dreamed of.

Four vehicles full of rainbow people and the basic food and tools are
there tonight. There is a major clean up to be done but with the help
of the Native it will be done this week.

We have a waterspring coming out of a well on one side of the
clearing that is clean and fresh as can be and will need immediate
attention to protect it and make it operational. We will need to pump
and pipe using solar and gravity energies and carry it around. So all
plastic jugs and buckets and wheels to carry them will be fantastic.
Be creative and bring a bike with a trailer or a wheelbarrel.

The land is flat with easy access. This clearing is by a big lake
with a good shore with a small beach stripe that might get bigger
with the dry season...

The road to get there is in La Vérendrye Park on hwy 117 north. If
you come from the west you can pass through Ottawa and the 105 north
and Maniwaki to reach La Vérendry Park. Otherwise you take the 15
north in Montréal that becomes the 117 north. The ones coming from
Val d'Or with hwy 117 south read the directions backward to the road
28 ouest (west). Coming from the south the last health food grocery
will be in Mont-Laurier and the last good price gas station is Le
Relais 58 just after Grand Remous. It's better to fill the tank
there. Then keep on 117 north until you turn left on Road 28 ouest
(west) 10 minutes past Accueil Lac Rapide (Rapid Lake) and 10 minutes
before if you're coming from the north. You are now in the middle of
the park on road 28 ouest. This is a dirt road with an average speed
of 80km/hr with a car. You drive until km marker 72 km on Road 28
ouest until you see the road to Ward lake and the sign on your left.
This is a smaller dirt road very nice going for 5 km in a beautiful
forest. Then you get to a T. Turn left at the T for 5 km on road 20
east and cross two bridges. The second bridge cross over Coulonge
river which is flowing in Pomponne lake. Don't take the first road to
the right, drive 1.5 km more and you are Home at the parking welcome
center area.

We are soooo happy ... and we Love You

What are diesel fuel prices in Canada? And if I can sweet talk the respondant into giving them in $US/US gal, I'll, like, give you a psychic hug...
