I used to be a fan of Sherridan, before he split the Scottish Socialist Party and ruined one of the best examples of anti-sectarian socialist co-operation in recent British history. I still support the SSP, though I'm not an advocate of Scottish independence. We need fewer nations, not more.

I know Jews aren't allowed to eat shellfish. I was sitting at dinner once with two Jews, one religious, and one a radical atheist. The religious one was eating the vegetarian option, so I asked him if he was a veggie. He replied that shellfish aren't kosher. The athiest responded by saying it's 'because they're scavengers, which for a Jew is very hypocritical!' Laughed my head off at that. Which was bad, as I was running for the college's racial equalities rep at the time....
