thought i'd make a thread about thc visuals, because i seem to be the only one of my friends that gets them this intense, and i dont see people on the web saying they do..
oh and by the way only things remotely psychedelic i've had are bud regularly and mdma 6 times.
the other night, while being exceptionally wakked, i realised that the visuals i get on bud, i never hear of anyone else getting them.
for instance, if i smoke even i tiny bit, when im in the bathroom, everything in my vision turns green, i mean real deep forest green, whether im thinking about it or not; if i stare at my fan for a few seconds i get rediculously vibrant in-your-face patterns and words and shit streaming out of the fan (i get same visuals from the fan without smoking just takes longer); last night, my room was tilting on the side, i mean i help these tripped out thoughts and visuals along on purpose, but then i get caught up in them and they get really intense, then i realise im "only stoned" so get less intense again; i had the whole field of my vision turn green then 2D with no perspective, then everything in my vision began to crack. it's puzzling me how i would have these visuals just from bud. i mean its not like i dont get enough sleep and am all cracked out. *twitch* haha..

I only get visuals on weed if I get really really fucking stoned. It's like a very low dose of mushrooms, stuff will kind of move or shift on it's own.

The first time I smoked however was very trippy indeed. We were at a park and i kept thinking i saw people walking towards us but there was never anyone there.

I dunno, I think you're very lucky to get such intense visuals from just weed. Enjoy it.

weed for me is so crazy, i feel the way you do. i keep thinkin im not normal because i shouldnt be experiencing the things i do on just weed.

but i tend to allways smoke at night in the dark alone. then go into my room with only the computer screen light on. sooo tripy..

i look around the yard, and somtimes i see shadow squares going all along the grass. and i see the clothes on the clothes line hang like perfect 2d. i see the leaves of trees "hang". but for me its soo crazy to see it that way. i constatnly think the trees are talking through the wind. and i hear waterfalls, and when things are really bad i heard constant screams in the depth of my mind, and whaa whaa sounds , that are so noisy. you think you wont be able to hear whats goin on.
i thought my backyard was the whole universe, and my dog trotted out onto the verandah and i thought he was a undercover sheep dog, and as he 'trotted' over, he was starring right at me about 2 metres away, but in my head i was almost crying because i thought he was looking into total darkness and couldnt see, i thought he was looking into the 'universe'. he came over more and i thought he was like a bull, and he put his head down and looked like he was eating the grass...
i had to wait for the dog to leave before i could go inside.

paper feels like watery and warm, and one time i saw down to the particles of paper.
i could write a thousand more stories here just about weed, but i wont.
i feel like im having waking dreams while sittin in a chair stoned.
i hear laughing clowns.
weed doesnt chill me out, it trips me out, makes me paranoid and crazy. and a bit delusional. I Love IT!!! haha

When it's really dank stuff I do get kind of the 2D effect on far off small objects. It's pretty strange. Like they are just paper with a picture on it or something.

when i'm really really stoned and listen to music, i get visuals. mainly stuff i've seen and experienced at some point in my life, sort of like my mind playing it back to me.
i can relate to what ESP_Shredder says about the very low dose mushroom-like effect as well.

There's been reports from smokers who also are on lithium, that the lithium potentiates the effect and leads to some pretty good visuals.

yeah well i thought most people got that, i am meaning like quite intense experiences where it really could be labelled as tripping, where rooms look like the wall should be the floor, you get lost in a room for 2o minutes trying to get out, OBE's, intense landscape CEV's, etc.

its possible that the weed enhanced or reacted with some other medications your on or should be on
also, theres some very rare people who experience an atypical alergic reaction

a typical alergic reaction to weed could be the tyical alergic reactions tomost plants..swellinghg of membranes diffucultybreathing rashes or chest pain pannic attacks heart murmers & the ike

however ive seen rare cases where allergic reactions included halucinations almost a psudo psychosis..violent oitburst..& even terets like inability to control verbal outbursts

but these reactions are very rare

i get very mild visuals when i smoke it all depends on the quality of the reef. usually i see things shifting slightly if i focus on them. also i can sometimes see color patterns when i close my eyes.

Cannabis is known to have pyschedelic qualities, I remember last semester doing some research for a paper on psychdelics and finding a study that had been done mapping visual distortions to various parts of the brain. The fundamental concept I understood, but the math got so horrendously complex that I gave up trying to understand it.

I have experienced a psychedelic vortex several times when I was stoned, with my eyes closed, and when I opened them I could vaguely see the blue, green, red and yellow swirls in my vision.

The visual disconnection you get while tripping (well, it happened one time when I tripped, almost like I was in a dream state) is the only way I can describe the first time I got high. That actually was worse, it was the first time I had done ANYTHING, and we smoked A LOT of real good dank - got to the point of frame-by-frame perception, REAL strong perception dilation.

There have also been a few times where I got high, layed down and listened to music and essentially meditated, there has been come really cool imagery associated with doing that, almost like what you would experience on a low dose of shrooms or acid - like seeing something with your minds eye, only just slightly beyond ACTUALLY being able to see it.

Bottom line, yes weed can cause perception changes similar to those while taking stronger psychedelics, it is known to be hallucinogenic. If you really want to see some crazy shit, try hash, I hear that's awesome.

this weekend after we went to a summer fete i was at mine in the shower and i begun meditating, and yeah all my visuals (along with such a better mental high) all came flooding back:D

dude i dont really get visuals per se, but my vision gets fucked up sometimes if i am smoking good shit. like my whole field of vision will tilt, just like i was tilting my head to the side or something, but then it gets really hard to walk and shit. and then sometimes i like move up behind my body, so i am kinda watching myself from above... crazy shit! that only happened once after not smoking for a few months, then smoking a ton in one sesh.

when i get stoned, the easiest way to describe the visual imagery is this:

there is a draped surface over my field of vision that is different for each eye, but at any one point i will only be seeing one part, or a combination of the two when they coincide.

the draped screen displays constantly moving green, red, blue, yellow, magenta, etc (stark colours) patterns that form into shapes, or images, characters, strange contraptions, cartoons, animals, monsters, pixies, abstract objects, etc, anything i can concieve. but they constantly change or move, especially if i concentrate on any part. i could never draw them because if i consider the actuality of any part, the whole thing changes.

this tends to happen in teh dark but thats because i can see the screen clearly. even in teh day i can see this if i look at the sky or any sort of clear surface.

but theyre all 2d, and theyre only basic colours, and theyre transparant, adn they constantly change. theyre never distracting because they dont take preference to whatever im actually seeing but if i look at them, they come out.

ive experienced the same thing in monochrome by looking at a channel that is on static for a long time without looking away, so i am convinced it is a normal brain process that is overactive when stoned or times of concentration on random visual imput.


its really wonderful sometimes, and othertimes barely noticeable. sometimes i can get it now that i know what to look for when sober, but its very different. when sober i have to concentrate hard and not distract myself, but when stoned they can come on instantly and i dont have to think about it at all.

ive not spoken to anyone who experiences teh same, but some things people say on the net ring similar.

but yeh this is not the only visual effect, this is merely the one that is seperate to a distortion of vision. like, this has nothing to do with what is being sent to my brain from my eyes, this is totally seperate. of course theres also funthings like surfaces warping (this has happened since i took dxm), and mispercieving things, and details becoming very clear.

but these things are less pronounced nowadays. i havnt smoked in a few weeks, maybe if i get soem bud tonight similar things will occur

I get some visual distortions when I get super-stoned. Everything moves in frames and looks pixelated. When I close my eyes I sometimes see cartoons and shapes and colors and whatnot. Only when I am really stoned though.

sometimes when i get really baked off some good herb i start seeing shit in colors. just like if i put on orange glasses, red sometimes, brown other times. only a few times i've had green or purple or blue, but i have to be toasted for that.

in the forest wierd shit goes down. the trees move from being far to close and they change positions. also sometimes it's a flashback and something might morph for a second or two. but i'm usually incredibly baked when that happens.

I get ridiculous visuals from marijuana. Mostly closed eye visuals. One time I was baked off my ass, and I was trying to concentrate on my closed eye visuals, and all of a sudden this intensely vivid blue-droplet shaped dude just steps out. It scared the shit out of me. Maybe I was starting to lucid dream or something, but it was the most intense visual I have ever experienced, and I have done psychedelics a fair amount.

Also, after smoking a bunch of hash at night time, I hallucinated to the point where I couldn't see anything physical at all. I did however see a big circle in front of my eyes with weird patterns repeating in a slices-of-pie pattern (all of their bottoms were in the center of my vision).

My first time smoking weed, I smoked some crazy stuff. I hallucinated my ass off. I fell down, and I felt like there were metallic balls in my ears. I looked up and I couldn't see the stars because they were swirling in a number of identical tiling spirals... I thought it was laced. Now, I doubt it was.

I can remember hallucinating objects getting bigger and smaller (this happens to me a lot on DMT). Also I would think that objects I wasn't focusing on were strange things. I thought a plank of wood was a bar (like where you drink).

man for me, to the best of my experimentation haha, weed has seriously fucked me up the most. i don't even know if i can describe how fucked i get from just a blunt or two. i smoke ALL THE TIME and i still get it man! it's awesome! i just look around and shit isn't REAL! it's all just like cartoons or something. nothing seems serious at all to me when i'm high, which is a blessing and a curse. like seroiusly man, i've tripped acid 3 or 4 times now, and it's seriously not as intense as the shit i get when i smoke weed man. i'm thinking of giving up the acid, because i don't wanna decide it takes a lot for me and take too much, but then again one hit has not done it for me, and two gets me there just to leave me hangin. i'm truly afraid to take three or more because i kinda have a fucked up head... i've been through a lot of real tough times... but yeah man, everything just seems like it's cell shaded to me when i'm high. and sometimes i even get the awesome priveledge of getting to see word bubbles come out of people mouths. which is fucking crazy!!! imagine an actual fucking bubble containing real fucking words... come talk to me when you see THAT

lol so many awsome stories, when a was a noobie (hahah doobie) i would laugh uncontrollably and end up in a corner laughing my ass off listening to goa. the most noticeable perceptual changes was that everyone suddenly looked computer animated... got paranoid when it first happened and my mind was racing but not able to grasp any concepts, so random conspiracy tidbits would pop into my head over and over again until i got into proper lighting. The 3 most memberable visuals was my visual field was covered in green gridding, but only up and down vertical (2D!) and two times caused by most likely overheating and vertigo everything turned into molten metal and spiked out everywhere, once green once chrome. both these times i was unable to even stand up because of the insane vertigo (which ironically was most likely by me standing up to fast). both were at lunch time in a clearing near a path with a small quantity of weed with a few schoolmates. also my most common perceptual change is that of slightly elevated vision (3rd eye?) and slightly off centre. We randomly got white rhino/white widow, and one my buddies brother thought it was laced with crack... and apparently he did not know of the white strains, even though i smoked my first 2 grams with him, i told him white rhino or white widow (with further research could be any white strain). but he still did not believe me and picked out a "crack" rock and hot knived it. when it was my hit i examined the "crack" laced weed, absolutely bud still leaf sprouts! well anyway i was only able to get through 3 1/2 hits, but ended argueing with my arm for like 20 minutes. unbeknowest to me my friend was asking me questions and most likely extend my arguement. to date i havent found any more pure white bud.

The only times I've really gotten close to having visuals, was vaping Northern Lights out of a $500 volcano vaporizer. 100% THC. Shit started to bend a little and become distorted after two hits off this thing.

I kind of wish I'd never smoked it though, cause weed will never, ever be that good again. I should really invest in a volcano vaporizer.

when i get really stoned, everything is flashing, not actually, but because humans eyes need to see and focus on something for us to see it.... so as time goes by we're constantly seeing the same thing over and over again, especailly if we're just sitting on a bench or something, so everything sorta wiggles and flashes, it is most intense when im walking around my neighbourhood becsaue there are so many trees and house and everything, colours get more intense too and thats about it, its so awesome

I get much better visuals off of a vaporizer than pure smoking. Infact, when I smoke I sort of plateau... after a while I really can't get much higher (or at least it's a lot slower). With the vaporizer I can just keep going and going untill I go insane.
