This world is a prison.. There is only you.. You fell asleep just after you died and you dreamed a world for your self.. Similar in many ways to the world you once inhabited.. except there isn't really a moon and there are no real stars.. There is nothing under the earths crust in fact the only places that ever existed? is where you are now and where you are going to be in the future... Your lover and every one around you doesn't actually think... they follow a predefined pattern created by your subconscious, but non of that matters because non of us are really here.. its only you thinking that we are...

Wow, you're like, so deep. That was so deep I don't even care that the same thing as been posted about fifty times in the Paranoid forum, and it was definately way too deep for me to even think of telling you to post your stupid bullshit there, not here where people like to have serious discussions about things that matter. Wow, man. Just wow.

While that did bare some resemblance to the situation in the matrix it also had a very distinct difference.

One time on mushies i was convinced i had died and my life was just repeating itself and that no one was real. I got really freaked out when i tried to touch my friend to make sure he was real but couldn't. Apparently i was just sitting on the couch lunging at him while he was sitting on the other side of the room.

Oddly enough... even if that were true... it doesn't really do anyone a damn bit of good to know it... especially me.... if you're all just figments of my imagination...

I'm bound by the laws of this reality... it is (as far as I can know) inescapable...

So I ask you mister conspiracy... what's the worth of knowledge if it cannot be applied in useful way?
If what is posed here is true then you'd be doing just as well to answer that question yourself as his answer would just be a regurgitation of your own thoughts.

Darksleeper_0,

So true but our minds alone are not powerful enough to conjure up and reorganize matter without ready help from outside influences such as morphogenetic fields which help to shape the pattern of things.

Bloody hell, if nothing is real, we might as well work with what we've got. What sort of a moron would throw doom and gloom into a disreal situation.

it's straight out of "Walking Life" and "Donnie Darko"

watch those movies closely repeatedly and you will inhabit that world

it's like in Six Feet Under when Nathaniel tells Nate: You will always have a reality to inhabit

this is a very interesting concept, i've had it many times

but......

i think i can refute this

try going without food by dinnertime such concepts quickly disappear

How so?

Either your stomach reminds you that you are hungry and need to eat (or die)

or

You mind makes you think that your stomach reminds you that you are hungry and need to eat (or die)

Proves nothing.

Sort of like, if you die in VR you die in real life, it doesnt make the cause of your death (say a VR Vampire) more real in any objective sense, but the effects would be the same because your brain is fooled into thinking that it does exist objectively.

Hunger proves nothing about the nature of reality, only that whatever it's nature you are subject to it..
