visualizations

(not the windows kind)

has anyone tried this? visualizing something into material existance? i've always wanted to believe it's true, but i'm having a little trouble selling myself on it all the way, which could (i suppose) lead to it not working.

(oh, please don't bash me with "hah, that's not the only reason it wouldn't work" comments.)

but anyway. i decided to start small. i thought of a green feather in the utmost detail, every little fraction of it and the quill, a bright green feather, in my mind. i spent around five minutes just thinking, concentrating on the image of this bright green feather, it was a swan's feather.

(i note now that i forgot to, at the end of the visualization, ask for something to appear to me today that will give me irrefutable proof, and "faith", [which is a word that doesnt seem to fit, just for the record] that this IS an illusion alterable by my own mind.)

so the day went on, and at first i forgot about my feather. then randomly my boyfriend and i ended up at the pond for the first time in months, and i thought to myself "woah this is weird, maybe i WILL see a feather." long story short, i didn't.

i haven't lost faith yet, but i upon going to bed i found that i could not sleep. after an hour of trying i came upstairs to surf the internet (oh, lousy habit, so what?) and i noticed someone had left a candle burning on the fireplace mantle. "STUPID!" i thought. the tv was also on. it angered me that my brother would be so stupid to put the whole house in danger leaving a shallow candle burning on a wood surface, so i woke him up and repremanded him.

he genuinely denied having lit the candle. so i asked my mother. she didn't light it either. a bit confused, i walked back out to the livingroom, and when i looked at the candle again, i realized it was bright green.

i don't know, i guess it just seems odd.

I think it's possible, but thinking about it is'nt the answer. I think when you think about something apearing, your seperating what's "real" and what's in your head. Just thinking about thinking a feather into reality stops it from apearing. All thinking about it does is forces it back, further convincing you that it's can't happen. When it happens, it just happens.

ya, Im with the lab. the mind is a powerful thing but i dont think it will ever have the power to materialize something. all your really trying to do is create a coincidence, because in full, thats exactly what is would be. Its probibly best said that the power to materialize objects is held within the power to control choas itself.

minitalent works, as does dreamshaping and sending, and a few
other things like empathy work for some people more then others

but even gods don't really create matter out of nothing
they actualy convert energy by nontangable means

i think some day each of us in some life many lifetimes down the road
might very well have learned how to do that and be kind of like little 'gods' too.

there are some things you may notice work entirely different
in dreams then how they work when we're awaike.
different universe different physical principles
or rather different fraime of reference though different universes too.

yes i think we may all be infant gods
but we are only at the learning to wiggle our fingers and toes stage
no where near the crawling and making googoodaadaa noises

but there ARE things you CAN do
and visualization is part of one way of interacting with the nontangable

Very interesting mnax, perhaps we are Gods, but at this level of existance, we are merely Gods of our own imagination. I can create anything in my mind by closing my eyes and visualizing it. Not a creation of energy, merely a transformation of it. Perhaps this is a sort of training course for our impending deity.

"infant gods," nicely put! wiggling our toes, true... but only because we are unwilling or unable to accept that we are capable as more, perhaps?
i'm unclear what i myself believe at this point so i wont venture much further at the time being...

This feather business sounds like it's straight out of "Illusions." Good book, I just read it. I admit I've also been trying to do this. Like you I'm not totally sold on it. I mean, I can write about anything, like walking on water, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's possible. But I figure that we are directly connected to all the energy in the universe (look into quantum nonlocality, very interesting), so it could happen. Keep working, the only thing that can stop this from working is your own doubt. Besides, if it doesn't work, who cares? Nothing lost.

Wow, i really loved the honesty in your story, thinking i'll throw my 2 cents worth in, why not.


I tried to levitate one time, not cos i think i have magic powers but just because it seemed kinda pointless not to try it. Of course i couldn't do it but when i spoke with some friends about it they thought it was strange that i had tried whereas i thought it was strange that they hadn't.

As far as your story goes, i don't think it matters that much if the green flame was a coincidence or not. If you hadn't been concentrating on seeing a green feather then you may not have noticed that the flame was green so in a way you did make your visualisation become a reality.

One time i was dreaming and there was a pencil in the dream. when i woke up, i saw the pencil laying on my bed, but as i grabbed for it, it slowly faded away. is that something like what you're talking about? i was of course expecting to wake up again because i've had dreams where i've been dreaming, wake up then wake up again later from that second dream, if that makes sense. that ever happen to anybody?

why would focusing solely on the visual aspect of an object bring it out of the NETHERZONE into existance?
what about its smell,its texture,how it sounds,tastes,its weight and pliability.
the elements that make it up...the vIbE of the object...whatever that might mean to you,how well it conducts temperatures,its density...
i bet you didnt focus on many of those,all at the exact same time
also you have to remeber to make sure you make it appear soemwhere where you can see it,so it doesnt pop into existance 500000 light years away,or ont he other side of the planet
think of the air molecules that the object will push out of the way,and how it will effect air pressure,cmon make some room for this object your jamming into this place,how it might effect gravity on its small degree
think of the mind energy transferring...
