I wrote this yesterday, after an agonizing 6 days of writers block! As always, don't be shy to critique my work, I'm very hard to offend :)
The Sanctuary
Stars
that riddle the black sky,
stitch together the canvas
Providing light when there is none.
They are a library, from which dreams are conjured.
Earth
Gives a foundation,
Its guarantee backed by millions of years.
It is the bed, on which I sleep,
A vast altar on which my knees can fall.
Trees
Build mighty walls,
Growing with quality through the ages,
They can guard my body from harm,
They can give privacy to my soul.
My home
Has no doors to be closed,
Thus all can share it
So there will be a refuge for all souls
And a sanctuary for every prayer.
