I am proud to declare the Karma Kafe officially open for business!
*Snips red tape*
Welcome to the Karma Kafe - where everyone knows your name...
Please, pull up a chair, grab a cup of tea, have some *special buscuits* and I'll tell you all about it.
So what is this brand new place?
Well, for those of you who have been around here for a few years, you'll instantly recognise this place as the spiritual successor to Flyology. Over the years, with Fly's brilliant efforts, Flyology helped to create a community of the UK Forum, allowing people to get to know each other better, to get to know themselves better, and to become close friends. But this place has seen its ups and downs, and since this forum and Flyology dwindled, it's time to start anew.
So we start with where Flyology left off, and build on from there, hopefully taking this place further and in new directions - but only time will tell with that. And of course if Fly wants to come back and run it, the chair's his.
For those of you who aren't familliar with the old Flyology, and for those of you who have taken far too many drugs and need reminding, this is what the Karma Kafe will be about:
This is where people can come to make a thread about themselves (called Karmas), to introduce themselves, to tell us as much or as little as they like about themselves, and keep their thread up as a kind of running interactive diary of their inner mind. Here people will ask questions about each other on these threads, the more probing the better, and here people will find a place to be known and get to know both themselves and others. And if people like, they can make general threads here, about the deeper philosophical/psychological issues that affect people today - ask questions that really challenge people and make them think hard about an answer that means something to them.
This is where it begins, but where it goes is up to everyone here. It's a bit of an experiment really. Based on a tried and tested formula, true, but even dynamite has a formula. My hope for the Karma Kafe is that it will bring us all together again, and bring in new people, to make the UK Forum the thriving, close, friendly community that it has been in the past and deserves to be again.
Peace,
Peace Phoenix

You're more than welcome to join in Mary. There are plenty of honourary foreign members in the UK Community. Unlike the British government, we have an open border policy when it comes to immigration! Set up a thread, and we'll ask some questions to get to know you better....

Hello my mellow English Cousins from across the pond. I am really happy to just leave my mark here..I don't get out much because I work the late night shift at a group home.It gets very lonely for me And I don't get to see my Family very much either..Don't mean to bum everyone out..That's just my line of work I've chosen..It pays good and I'll get my benefits in 4months...It makes me happy. Chineese Proverb says..If you love your job you'll never have to work a day in your life...I'd love to hear from everyone...So feel free to send me a message

If you upload it to www.photobucket.com or www.imageshack.us then you can usually shrink the size down a tad.
*grabs a cuppa to make it seem as this is on topic*
bexmuse

Finnaz
04-13-2008, 05:55 PM
Awww, Bazils a quality bunnie name. A mate of mine has rabbits called Cottontail and Peter. Does LA stand for Los Angeles or something else?
bexmuse
04-14-2008, 06:51 PM
hehe!LA was originally rosie cotton from LOTR, bt we changed it...no its not as exciting as los angeles...it stands for little autumn, one of familys less creative names!my mum calls her by the full way, bt me and dad stick to LA..i guess it brings the thought of hot weather and beaches!(*looks out window and shudders at feeble sunshine*)
Finnaz
04-14-2008, 06:59 PM
Haha Little Autumns a great name, sounds Elvish or something.
bexmuse
04-15-2008, 07:58 PM
an elvish name would be sooo cool!like lothlorian or something!no, its even less exciting...its jst we got her in the autumn and shes really small compared to bazil and so is little!
