Solitude
Dust clouds roll off the heels of my shoes,
As I prod them to move along the pavement.
The cloak of late evening weaves itself around me;
It is a perfect fit for my mind.
My triune friends walk alongside,
For Me and Myself can only be seen through the minds’ I.
Thoughts bounce off this compressed trio,
Striking each with grace, a living waltz.
One, two, three, one two three.
“Hunger!” cries Me.
“Schoolwork!” Myself exclaims.
“Solitude!” say I.
My selfsame comrades, step back,
Sealing their abrasive priorities
And like the dirt stained breeze grabbing at my sides, they depart.
Solitude.
I sit near the parking lot, comfortably alone,
Breathing in the waning sunlight.
The street is so silent; I can even hear the absence of my thoughts.
Dust clouds roll off the heels of my shoes,
As I prod them to move along the pavement.
The cloak of late evening weaves itself around me;
It is a perfect fit for my mind.
