View Full Version : What's your motivation for going on people's personal forums?

* you love them
* you don't know... you just happen to go there by hazard, and if you see something interesting, well, you read it, and maybe reply
* you're curious to know the creator of the forum better
* all of the above
* none of the above
and that's all I can't think of! :p
Myself, I usually go on the personal forums of the people I really like here, and my friends, unless their forum is just not too much my thing... then I'll just go read, sometimes... And sometimes, it's just that I check the new posts and happen to find something interesting coming from a personal forum I've never been to yet, or hardly...

I usually check out Christine's (antithesis) personal forum, and I often post them. I think she's quite cool, so that's why I often go there.

my motivations are sometimes a mystery to myself

I try and go into people's threads that reply to mine, or seem nice. But sometimes, I just see something interesting in the active threads, and I'll go there. Whatever is tickling my pickle at the time I suppose.

That's always how I get to the personal forums, I don't even realise it half the time. I always forget about the personal forums.
I spend a fair amount of time in Through the Looking Glass, The Big Green Field, Scarlett's Secret Stash, Captain Christine's Pirate Ship and the Loosers Club because well, over time I feel like I've developed a pretty good bond with mariecstacy, honeysuckleblue, scarletischasingroses, antithesis and dustinthewind.
How it has all shaken down, I don't know, but I love those girls. I've always had thought you were great too Penny, perhaps I should come around here a bit more as well.

The only 2 personal forums I check out every time I log on are mine (f'course :p) (this one and also Planet Gong, created by me and Nick - wiufcaoltp) and Christine's forum, because I loooove her so much, she's so great :) Then the others, I check them once in a while, just out of curiousity, but usually the forums created by people I really like. I check out mariectasy's forum quite often, too :)
Anyways, what I really like about personal forums is that they're just so... personal.

I pretty much only go to this forum, and mine.
Sometimes when I'm looking through the "New Posts", and see a thread that sounds interesting in a forum I do not usually visit, I go to it...
But other than that, I stick to the general forums.

Not sure if I ever visited a personal forum. Is this one?? Don't know. When I do come on the site, I usually just click "new posts" or start reading something from womens issues. There are only certain forums that I will post in. Those are the simple ones. I don't enjoy being frustrated. If I do go to a personal, it would probably be because I liked what he/she had to say in the other forums..

I'm so happy that you post over my forum, Pavel :) It does this warm thing where my heart is! I'd post over yours, but... I'm really bad at poetry, at least poetry in English! I go read it, though!

Thanks guys for liking my forum. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :) I feel bad though since I have been neglecting my forum lately :(
I mostly just go to the personal forums of people that I like.

I like you, even though I don't post over your forum... :) I go read it, though... just like Pavel's forum, and some other personal forums created by people I like.
Like I said before, if I don't post, it's because I don't always know what to say. Maybe it's the same for Christine!
Maybe I should make a little effort :)

You never told me you had a forum. So there.
Yeah, it is the same way with me Laety. I just don't know what to say and I don't want to say something meaningless just so that I'll have posted something. And as soon as I do think of something to say on the topic then I will go and post.

I voted for:
you don't know... you just happen to go there by hazard, and if you see something interesting, well, you read it, and maybe reply..
but there's also another reason:
you're curious to know the creator of the forum better

i surf the personal forums like i do anyplace else i'm able to, for topics that intrest me, or sound like the might.
if everyone else on the internet were robots or little green furry aliens, that would be just as ok with me, nor, i don't believe, if we couldn't tell, then what difference would it make?
it's all about little words on the screen and sharing out thoughts and imaginations with them.
i really wish the internet WERE MORE culturally diverse, the way it started out to be, the way what the origeonal hippiness was all about too, before bizdroidism and christerism took over and compromised all that.

well, i have to like the person... i have to like the subject of the forum (hence my ignoring BSR's poetry forum)... and i have to know it exists (i started going to personal forums to begin with when i clicked on what seemed to be a random link in indian summer's profile)
