i have an uncle that used to grow a plant he called "ancient indian tobacco." he grew it because he was on probation for growing and selling MJ. i used to know the scietific name for it and did some research on it when i found that some ancient indian tribe smoked it for its psychedelic effects. this 'tobacco' was supposedly extict for like a couple hundred years or somethin and suddenly some dude got some seeds from somewhere that where recognized to be from this plant when compared to seeds dug from excavation sites. i cant seem to find anything that leads to what the name of this 'tobacco' was.

i know it was deffinately a tobacco.

anyone heard of it or something like it?

if it werent necessarily a legitimate tobacco, many plants have been given the common name "indian tobacco," but my first guess would be lobelia, if it has any kind of effect.
