Hey all i am a first time grower. i honestly cant remember when i planted my plants. i'm doing this outdoors in 5 gallon pots using organic soil with guano and perlite, and chicken shit. anyways one of my plants has been budding for the past 3-5 weeks. have been putting it in a dark spot in my yard at night under a large cardboard box with two 12-5" holes for ventilation and i put a moving blanket over it to keep out all light. right now my backyard only gets about 12 hours of light anyways. basically my problem right now is i'm not really sure how long to let my plants bud for.each cola is only about an inch or so in diameter and only about 3-4 inches long. my tips are all turning purple. i am going to try to get some pictures on here.

-Harvest when 60% of the bud hairs change color from clear/white to red/brown/purple.
-Unless you live on another planet or near the equator, your back yard's getting more than 12 hours of light. The summer soltice (longest daylight of the year) was less than 3 weeks ago and the fall equinox isn't until Sept.
You said you are trying to force flower by covering your plant up with a cardboard box with 2-5"holes and then covering this with a blanket. That's harming the plant because it isn't getting enough fresh air.
-"putting it in a dark spot in my yard at night"
Why are you covering it up at night, when it's already dark?
You need to keep a journal, either at home or on-line.
How do you intend to dry and cure?
