Howdy all,
Well, after a rough Friday in kangaroo court that went until 10pm, on
Saturday things seemed to change overnight. The LEOs have decided not
to ticket anymore and have been pretty quiet all weekend. I have seen
no roadblocks sinced Friday. They are running the occasional license
plate in the parking lot, but nothing out of the ordinary.
The vibe here is that we have won. There was no permit signed, and the
gathering is coming together very nicely. Overnight, the vibe changed
and there is a lot of love and good energy pouring in. Kitchens are up
and are allowed to have fires, although there is currently a fire ban
for personal fires (it's pretty dry up here).
So, for all those who are wondering whether or not to come home, I
would say, COME HOME!!! Turtle Soup has a beautiful spring tap with
gravity filter--an unlimited supply of clean water for folks. The
Ovens, Musical Veggie, Instant Soup, and many others are up and running
and Dinner Circle is being served.
The site is beautiful and large--kitchens are spread out, there are
multiple springs, and plenty of room. Communications are good on the
site as well. Parking is the only downfall of the site, as there is no
main parking meadow. If you must park on the road, you must stay to
one side and have the other cleared, as the LEOs are issuing tow
warnings. They want one side cleared for emergency vehicles to get by
if they need to.
It is warm during the day and down to 35 or so at night--pretty nippy
especially around 5 or 6am. I highly recommend bringing bug spray or
whatever you choose to use as your defense against mosquitoes. The
mosquitoes are relentless in the evening and, although I don't like
OFF, I end up using it every night. The bugs are even bad during the
day.
I'll be able to give more updates throughout the week and will let you
know if anything changes. Come on home, as the soup is warm, the vibe
is kind and air is crisp.
