I was wondering what all your opinions are on when the average is that a guy looses his virginity. Also, would you consider oral sex, given or taken, loosing your virginity? Let me now.

I think I read somewhere that the average age for guys is either 15 or 16...
For girl's it's 17.
In a way I do consider oral sex losing virginity, because even though it's not physically happened, they are still mentally mature and ready enough to cope with that sort of relationship

I think the 15 to 16 range is right for most guys, at least me and all my firends. The 17 on girls is all wrong. Most guys date women that are same age or younger then themselves. Expecialy in the highschool years. Who do you think all the 15 and 16 year old guys are sleeping with? 17 year olds? Maybe they all sleep with the same girl to keep the average up. From my high schools years I can tell you that 15 to 16 also applies to the women.
The reason people may think women wait longer is all about reputation. A guy needs to tell everyone they have had sex 10 seconds after they have, so they look cool in the eyes of all his guy friends. Girls can't do this, because the fools of this world think a girl that has had sex at 15 is a slut. Its all BS. Don't rush anything because you want to hit the average. Is this not a forum for people who are not average? Just find someone you care about and be safe, condoms, the pill, blood test, and whatever it takes. a 1st time only happens once.
For the guys out there, be gentle, patient, and kind. The stories I have heard from past girlfriends about 1st times pisses me off to no end. Women are not built like porn stars, so don't treat them like one. Never hurt somone who is willing to give you such a wonderful gift.
Oral is not loosing your virginity, but it is a sex act. Willingness to preform oral sex is sometimes a warning sign of a partner not ready to go all the way. Trust me, its worth the wait. You have the rest of you life to do it and in my opinion the best sex is always is a long term relationship.

For me and I think most people you are a virgin as long as a female hasn't had a penis in her vagina. But then I had a friend who was a lesbian and never had sex with a man. She has never used dildos or anything like that, but she still concideres herself not a virgin because she has oral sex.
Her idea of virginity has questioned mine

I'm strange and think that you are a virgin until you have had sex and enjoyed it:confused:
I can't really explain...

it all depends on what your defining it for, medical, emotional, social, trivia, or some kind of notion of purity. All definitions depend on what they are for.

Wow, I really never thought about oral sex counting as losing your virginity before... I don't know why I never thought about losing it from a lesbian's point of view. Makes me wonder when I really did lose it. Actually, I think that maybe that only counts for lesbians because they don't have the same methods of sex as a heterosexual woman (you know, with the penis insertion and all...) Personally, I considered myself a virgin until I had sex for the first time. I never counted anything else as anything but preperation for sex.
I think the average age for girls has gotten younger in the past few years. Used to be 17, but now it might be more like 15 or 16. But then again, it all depends on the girl.

ok venus, your just messing up the average, j/k
I have 1 freind that didn't have sex until he was 22. That is, unless he went out and got a hooker that we don't know about.
It's an odd thing trying to add in the whole same sex losing virginity. I think Sweet maman had it right with oral being preperation for sex.

it doesn't matter. it's all just labels. virgin/not virgin/whatever, you're still the same person.

well thats what my point was, it depends on why they want to know. To a doctor it might make a diference.
