what goes on at a gathering? i want to go to one sometime, but i wanted to know what everyone does there exactly. is it like a be-in?


also i read somewhere that the rainbow family has certain rituals. what are they?

oo la la i woke up early

on a morning of silence

n' set my drum in the sun

turning it , tuning it

slow



then after awhile , why sure

i needed to play it , so i could

know twas a just right vibe
for a buffalo drum and when
i set
to the song
a neighbor come by
and shooshed me . ha , i smile ,
i say go away . i don't play
loud or long , just getting ready
for playing music at the kidvillage
on this the childrens day and
of our one prayer for peace .

put a feather in my beard , rub
my body with sage , then sit ,
measuring the time inch by inch ,
not knowing the time to go , then
a black squirrel starts singing
and i listen for a long time and
it's the most elegant tune , like
a
flute

i went on to play with the drummers
in the parade
