i've seen wind up ones. 20 some odd years ago there was a place in portland oregon called the last wound up, that was allabout wind up toys. i mean like everything that you wind up and moves by stored mechanical power you can immagine, and many that even i had not.
i also had a dream once about a, well not quite "tap dancing" but close to it.
the last dream i ever had that started out to be a full bore nightmare. it also didn't end as one at all. to the contrary.
i mean the thing was going to attack me, like something out of a 50s horror movie, only just a skull, no skelliton, just this skull thing, on the floor, chittering arround kind of almost like, as you say, tap dancing as its sole means of propulsions, so any way i managed to get ahold of it so it couldn't.
but then what was i going to do.
so i got this idea. well rubbing alcohaul makes things safely clean right? so any way, i started cleaning this chittering skull with q-tips and denatured alcohaul. well as i worked it calmed down a bit, but only as long as i kept at it. and the longer i kept at it, flesh began to appear.
but as soon as my arms got tired and i set it down to give them a rest, the flesh would rot off and that silly thing would start trying to attack me.
so i couldn't let go of it. all i could do was keep cleaning. but the wiered thing was, as i kept cleaning the flesh ON to this skull, well it grew a body and a face and becaume a beautiful, sweet and well meaning lovable person, oh and btw, i was, mmm maybe about five or six years old at the time, and yes i DID have those kind of thoughts at that age.
well i had to really really complete the job before i could get her to where she wouldn't physicaly keep reverting, but eventualy i did, and that's how the dream ended.
and i haven't ever had what i would call a total absolute nighmare for the rest of my life ever since.
so it's sort of interesting to stumble accross someone looking for a tap dancing skull.
