Our chatroom annual renewal fee is upon us. I'm calling upon everyone who uses to chatroom to help keep it going. It costs $100 a year, which isn't much. So we need 10 people to donate $10 to keep it alive for another year.

Here's the place to do it. Click on the Chatroom Button to pay for that specifically. In return, you'll get upgraded to supporter status with all the benefits that supporters get!

Most of the people I see in the chatroom DO actively surf the forums, post topics and replies, etc.
Maybe you should come to visit the chatroom when it's busy, and then judge :)

There are not alot of people in that chatroom,
but it IS used, and it is used quite alot.
Most of the time during the day, there are like 8 to 12 people online, that's certainly enough to have a nice chat...
There is a very nice sphere in the chatroom, it's very nice there, it should deffinatly stay :)

I didnt know we paid rent for the chatroom, I wish I had seen this soon enough to budget a few bucks for it in the next thirty days. Hopefully enough folks will pay the bribe long enough to stoke it over, it looks like there are several pledges already from some of the regulars - way to go folks!

Any chance if we ante up we can get one a little better? The current room is under-whelming at times, but it gets almost constant use. Its generic-ness led me to think it was a freebie, and an upgrade might be convincing when it came time to pass the hat again next time.

I'll be checkin back on this one to see how it turns out, but hopefully we can keep the chat going for everyone that enjoys it.

You have to pay for bandwidth for a good one, no matter what.

I know appearances can be misleading,
but the true PHP code and actually testing it gives you a view of the software ;)

The current chatroom has a lack of functionallity in my opinion.
Yes it does what is most important, enabling us to chat, however, is it worth $100 if you see what it offers you?
Have you ever seen PhpMyChat?
I'm sure that your own server is able to cope with that, and it's free :)
I have a running copy of it on my server if you want to check it out...

As for the bandwidth, if that is the problem, please see my first post in this thread, we can get rid of your concern about bandwidth... :)

So far we've taken in $40 specifically for the chatroom. The donor page doesn't show all of that because some people paid using a different method. We're still a bit short, so you can still contribute. You'll get supporter status if you do. I renewed it today for another year. Enjoy! :)
