This is my new favorite thing to do with t-shirts.

I cut slits in the back, realllly wide...and then cut it all the way up the center of the shirt....then tied the strips together...then, voila! A wayyyy cuter t-shirt :)

yeah, don't think it would look the same on me either... the 5 inch wide bra strap would probably detract from the whole look. (only totally jealous.. hahah.)

No...cotton stretches...you just have to make sure you get your head in the right hole.

i recently bought this book at barnes and nobles called "generation t: 108 ways to transform a tee shirt" i got all excited and have been "reconstructing" like crazy. theres even instructions on how to make that shirt in there! if you had fun with that you should totally get this book!

Yeah, I was thinking about the chair thing too. I think that is so cute thought! Good idea, I am definantly going to have to try it. Unfortunantly, it will probably be with one of my husband's old t-shirts. LOL

Very cute! If you don't mind me asking...did you get the directions somewhere online? I'd like to do the same but maybe have some different styles too but haven't had much luck finding directions.

some of the girls at the dance studio I work at did the same thing to the sides of their shirt, but the holes were smaller...lots smaller...no skin showing, so that's where I got the idea from initially.

Whats it looks like in the front? Is it more form-fitting than a regular tshirt since its pulled tighter in the back? I want to try this idea cause its awesome, but like some of the others on here Im afraid it would look silly on me. Awesome idea though, and it looks super cute on you!

In the front it is more form fitting, which I like

I don't think it would look silly on anyone!

Here are a few I have done in the past. It is one of my favorite things to do as a seamstress.
