I normally call the plant i.e buds 'WEED' and the resin 'HASHISH' or solids as we sometimes say in the UK.

Duplicate thread.
Hash is the trichomes from the bud of the marijuana plant pressed. Can be from squishy to hard like a brick. It's a purer THC product, because it takes what gets you high from the plant, without the plant material. That is, of course, unless you live in an area where soapbar is common, then you never know what you're getting. Hash is almost never commercially available in most parts of the states.

Hashish is comprised of the compressed trichomes collected from the leaves and flowers of a mature, flowering Cannabis plant. Certain strains of Cannabis are cultivated specifically for their ability to produce large quantities of trichomes, and are thus called hash plants. Trichomes are small glandular hairs containing plant resins which appear on the leaves and stems of the Cannabis plant. If I am not mistaken, hash contains 8 times as much THC as "weed". And, i'm sure you all know this, Tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as THC, Δ9-THC, Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), Δ¹-tetrahydrocannabinol (using an older numbering scheme), or dronabinol, is the main psychoactive substance found in the Cannabis plant.

If I am not mistaken, hash contains 8 times as much THC as "weed".It all depends on the strain of weed, and the hash you have. You can have hash that has very little THC, or you can have 100% THC. There is no set specifications for hash, it's all on who makes it.

8 times id say its exagerating with good stuff more like 2-3 times as potent. And 3 times damn its pretty strong stuff you usually have to make it yourself.

Consuming enough good hash can be almost similar to an acid trip and can be used as a mild hallucinagetetajsiraihja...it makes you see things in other words....>_>

Unfortunately hash is not always just trichomes. Commercial hash from Marocco and other places is basically just compressed plant material. This type is not as strong as good bud. Hash made from just resin usually is called Kif or Charas. Bubblehash is also just trichomes. This is in the UK though maybee in the states and elsewhere Hash is the name for just trichomes I don't know.

buffoon: In the hash-making countries, kif or kief is a crude mixture of leaves stems flowers and resin chopped up. Here in america, most people use the term to mean uncompressed hash; just a pile of trichomes. Strange it seems you do there in the UK too.
But I just want to make sure you understand that 'charas' is a certain type of hash made a specific way; not necessarily purer product (although purer than the soapbar and bricked out ground plant you're talking about). It is actually one of the lesser quality resins because of the rubbing, there is no way to avoid absorbing a decent amount of plant material with the resin.
It sucks that you people get so much garbage called 'hash.' Hash by definition should be mostly trichomes, not ground plant material or anything. That shouldn't even be called hash. More like trash lol.

lol the simplest difference i can give is one is hard, the other is a plant.
both are in regular supply where i live, but as hash is cheaper (£20 the 1/2 ounce) - it is favoured more by me!!!

Chances are if hash is cheaper it is not very good.
